It has been written that if Sanchez stumbles down the strech the Jets will have to get a back up QB to keep Sanchez motivated.

While that may or may not be actually inspiring to him, the truth is Pappy Brunell is done as a back up this year and a back up QB is needed any way you slice it. To say that the Jets will do it to keep Sanchez on his toes is BS. With the amount of punishment Sanchez has taken this year, the Jets would be fools not to think he could get hurt in the near future. Not having a suitable back up is sucide.

So no matter what happens to end this season or how Sanchez does, there will be a new back up QB next year. Sanchez can't stop that even if he becomes Namath and wins a super bowl this year (not saying its going to happen).

Just want to cut that rumor off before it gets out of control - which is likely if they lose to Giants.
