Talent Watch: New Mexico Bowl
I am going to try and watch or DVR every bowl game, that has prospects the Jets might be looking at. Out of the 1st 3 bowl games, the New Mexico Bowl had the most to offer talent wise. Each team had two players that could get a look from NFL teams come April. The Temple Owls Have Adrian Robinson(DE/OLB), and Bernard Pierce(RB). The Wyoming Cowboys had Brian Hendricks(ILB), and Tashaun Gipson(CB/S).
Temple
Adrian Robinson OLB/DE: Robinson had a very good game for the Owls. He showed signs of his 2009 play. Adrian has a lot of speed, and the prototypical size NFL teams like for a 3-4 OLB. He showed a lot of football IQ, and discipline against the Cowboys. His play of the day was a hand off to a scat back who was going to toss the ball back to the QB. Robinson stayed home, and took the QB out of the play before it could even get started. He ended the day with 5 tackles 3 for a loss, and 1 sack. His stats for the year are: 52 tackles, 13.5 TFL, 6.5 Sacks, 1 QB Hurry, and 1 blocked punt/kick. The GGM Round Prediction: 5-6
Bernard Pierce RB: Pierce was a force against the Cowboys. Wyoming didn't have much of an answer for him all day. Pierce runs hard, and with patience. He isn't afraid to run anyone over either, with his big 6' frame. For a big back, he shows some burst, and speed to the outside. He is mostly a "between the tackles" kind of RB. Bernard has some injury concerns that might hold him out of the first few rounds. He finished the game with 100 yards rushing and 2 TDs. His stats for the year are: 1481 RUYDS, 27 RUTDs, and 52 REYDS. The GGM Round Prediction: 3-4
Wyoming
Brian Hendricks ILB: Brian was the only bright spot for the Wyoming defense. The Cowboys couldn't stop anything all day. Hendricks is a smaller LBer but has a good motor. He seemed to be around on every play. His play, overall, is AVG. He was fooled a few times pretty bad. He also over peruses, and takes himself out of plays a lot. All in all, he still had a decent game. He led the team in tackles with 13. His stats for the year are: 105 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, 1 sack, 4 PBU, 2 FF, and 1 QB Hurry. The GGM Round Prediction: 7-UFA
Tashaun Gipson CB/S: Gipson had a tough game. He shows flashes against the run. He made a few good tackles against Temple. He also made a horrible tackle that resulted in a TD. He doesn't really wrap up players. He is more likely to just throw his body at them in hopes of that bringing them down. In coverage, he had one nice play, but also forgot his assignment on another play, which resulted in a big gain. He had 8 tackles for the game. His stats for the year are: 95 Tackles, 2.5 for a loss, 3 INT, .5 Sacks, 5 PBU, and 1 FF. The GGM Round Prediction: 6-7

Curry and Hilton not that impressive
Hilton looks a little frail, too small for me, battling a hamstring , didn’t show the explosion that you were looking to see. FIU ran away from Curry, kept passes short, took Vince out of the game… Curry didn’t look good in this game, IMO he may slide deep into the second round
Your a real fan for doing this and for that i will check in to see how you scout the players…good luck…………….

Future Jets ??
For those of us who believe that the OLB problem is serious enough to warrent TWO draft picks in 2012, Adrian Robinson is a dream come true in the fifth round. If you believe that Bilal Powell is a bust, or that LT is at the end of the line, Bernard Pierce could be your next power back.
