In the gamethread and elsewhere people have said they are willing to wave goodbye to the playoffs in order to "fix the problems." I cannot fathom how someone could come to this decision other than pure frustration after the loss or in the case of WFAN being a troll. Listen me out, this season is not over, losing will NOT solve anything other than us watching the other teams try for the trophy that we have just as much of a chance at getting.
Here's my question to you what do you think losing will solve? Will it magically make us a 14-2 team next year or will we be forced to make a personnel decision that Rex will not like?
90% of the fans who root for the Jets to lose and are "Jets Fans" (once again throwing out the trolls on WFAN) will answer with a combo of this:
The Jets (because we missed the playoffs) will HAVE to get a new safety, a new RT, a new offensive coach, and we will then be forced have accountability....
I'm going to say it and this is my personal opinion: The Jets will make the changes for next year whether or not we win this year. I'm rooting for them to win out and get me the Lombardi.
Here's my opinion If you want a better draft pick become a Indy Colts fan, I hear they are getting a real good pick. If you want the Jets to lose because you hate the coordinator, I feel your pain but your anger is misguided. How about rooting for Westhoff, Petttine, or the offense to overcome his incompetence? Or Brandon Moore to kill the guy that Hunter should be blocking? Why not root for Cook or Alexander to step up and take E smith's job? (I too want E smith and Hunter to be backups or off the team next year as well as Shotty to be calling plays somewhere else. Guess what though, were stuck with them this year unfortunately.)
And for the rebuild folks: I can't believe I have to say this. This team is young, talented, and in all honesty about 3 players away from being a top 3 team in the NFL. Why blow it up? Were not 4-12 this year or missed the playoffs in the past two years. Poll any other teams fans and ask them if they would take 9-7, 11-5, and 10-6, three playoff berths AND two AFCC games in the first 3 years of a head coach AND QB. I'd say everyone of them except us would want to win out. Anyone other team would sign up on the dotted line and pay whatever it took to do it. Face fact, we have been spoiled for the last two years, the first sign this team may not be perfect, we already have talk about blowing it up. Take a breath and step back, this team will compete for years with most of the current players on the roster
So I have one other question: Will you be rooting for the Jets to lose and "fix the problems" or will you be rooting for the playoffs?
