Coach Rex Ryan turns 49 today.
In less than three full years with the team he has already made numerous team accomplishments in the regular and post-season, and broken numerous trends once consistent with the now mostly forgotten term "S.O.J."
Rex has changed the culture of the team from one of "any non-losing season is a great season" to "We Belong In The Superbowl This Year. Now Let's Go Eat a G.D. Snack!."
Does the team have flaws? Yes. Does Rex have flaws? Yes.
But, is this man truly dedicated to bringing the ultimate prize in all of sports to the Jets? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!
Rex is smart, he works hard, he motivates better than maybe any other coach in the league, and best of all, he makes average players good (Greene, Maybin), good players great (Ferguson, Harris), and great players into the best (Mangold, Revis).
I don't need to go into all the ways Rex is looked down on by the media, other NFL teams, or even other Jets fans. He is our coach, he has given us a place among the NFL's best, and I wish him a Very Happy Birthday.
