Flight Connections 11-09-11

Gang Green had an enjoyable flight on Sunday night.

WR Santonio Holmes and TE Jeff Cumberland then celebrated together.

It was Tone Time in Linden as Santonio's foundation raised money for sickle cell.

Apparently, dreamy QB Mark Sanchez is man candy.

Sanchise talked about his flinch in Buffalo.

HC Rex Ryan will probably show the video many times during film session.

Rex quietly made RG Brandon Moore a team captain for the season.

RB Joe McKnight, CB Darrelle Revis, DT Sione Pouha and ILB Bart Scott are Pro Football Weekly All Pros.

Yahoo! finds the Madbacker overrated

How can he be overrated when no one's been talking about him, apart from maybe his recent quote about strippers?

OLB Aaron Maybin talked about the Penn State scandal.

Yahoo! finds Mayhem underrated.

The Jets will not be able to beat the Patriots in the same way as the Steelers and Giants.

ESPN: The Jets make subtle defensive adjustments.

AFC East Blog: Here come the Jets.

Wall Street Journal: The Jets and Patriots have swapped roles.

The Fifth Down wonders whether the Jets are finally moving up.

The Star-Ledger looks back at the game.

Newsday grades the Jets season so far.

Jets Flight Deck gives out game balls.

Jersey Jets Fan is impressed with CB Kyle Wilson.

JetNation noticed that OC Brian Schottenheimer was inadvertently left hanging by Rex.

Buffalo Rumblings believes the Jets are the team to beat.

Wellsville Daily: The Bills should learn a lesson from the nasty Jets.

CBS New York: The Sanchez madness is okay as long as the Jets win.

Sports Illustrated: Division and playoff games provide plenty of intriguing games in the second half.

Deadspin: There is finally an inspirational children's book about Patriots RB Danny Woodhead.

Deadspin: How a comedian helped birth the "F-You" Patriots.  If you don't have a sense of humor, hire a comic to lighten up the team.

Gang Green wants no part of former Patriots DT Albert Haynesworth.  I figure with the timing, New England hoped the Jets would pick up this waste of space for the sake of gamesmanship and freeing them from paying the rest of his salary.

Bleacher Report goodness opines on the benefits of adding Haynesworth to the Jets.  The best part is the comments section where the original poster defends his article by the amount of articles he has already written.

STC Mike Westhoff has had many punt blocks during his Jets tenure.  His Xs and Os video is really worth watching after the jump.

why do people think fat al to the jets is a good move

we have seen how this story ends every time. Tennessee wanted him out, Washington wanted him out, Pats wanted him out. twice for attitude and twice for physical shape and play (redskins had the best of both worlds). Also look at the coaches that cut ties with this guy. All high profile respected guys who have been around a long time.
It’s not like he is a great run stopper and we need to cover edge rushes better not interior rushes. Unless Al can play linebacker i don’t think he is worth a thought.

We are in another atmosphere. You're just in the Troposhere we in the Exospere. In other words the JETS are higher than you!

Madbacker overrated? Revis overrated? Sanchez overrated?

Madbacker is never spoken about. The only time he is given any due is when he is played on a soundbite. He is actually underrated. Revis is Revis and if you think he is overrated then you are either blind or a hater. Finally Sanchez has been the most reliable QB from his draft. Stafford may be better, but you don’t know how long he will hold up during a season, and Freeman is having a horrendous year and has took a big step back. So none are overrated.

Interesting

The Jets are playing at an extremely high level and the Pats are struggling coming to town with a two game losing streak. Las Vegas odds makers have the Jets a one point favorite. I would have thought that the Jets would be at least a 4 point favorite seeing that they are at home and playing better than the Pats. Vegas must think the game Sunday night is a trap and they want everyone betting on the Jets. Not sure what to make of it. I think they are wrong ( kinda wish I lived in Vegas to place a bet) the Jets will win 27-17.

Pats have been played heavily in Vegas for over a decade.Gamblers are not easily prone to change a long

standing pattern.Sportsbooks want to give them as little as possible hoping Pat bettors will continue to bet on them even though the point spread is not in their favor.Spread should be Jets -3.
