Will Jets use Wildcat coming off bye week?

The Jets worked with Kerley during preseason reimplementing the wildcat with him.  While only 1 preseason game, it seemed to work well, even showing that Kerley could throw at least as well as Brad Smith if not better.

I have been surprised with how anemic the offense has been at times that this has not been used once.  Do people expect it to be employed vs the Bills, if even to give the Pats something to think about the following week?

WildCat

That formation hasnt been as successful this season as it was last season with Brad running it. I think Schotty has enough on his plate than to add wildcat in there that will only gain us a yd or 2. I would like to see more RB screens though and use their game against them.

we should have used it when we were up against the jags

it has been playing on my mind that we had an opportunity to us it against the jags without much risk . we might not see it this year at all but i think this is a mistake . making our opponents game plan for the wildcat means they have less time to practice other aspects of their defence and that can only be a good thing for our offence .
why not use kerley and mcknight in the wildcat package ? teams would find it very hard to game plan for that

if its for you it won't pass you

IMO

We don’t use it that much for any teams defense to gameplan or even consider practicing for it. Now when the Dolphins used to use it yes teams had to definitely plan and scheme for it thus giving them the loss of time on other areas. The jets never used it that much maybe about 2 or 3 plays a game last season.

It cant hurt on a 2nd and short

Why not? Have kerley bootleg with the RB option and keller going deep. Especially since we havent run it yet, worst thing (assuming Kerley doesnt make a dumb pass) he gets stuffed for a 1 yd loss. Best thing, either 1st down run or long pass to keller

The less options we give Shotty the better. I wouldn't even mention Wildcat around him.

Was it effective sometimes, yes, but in moderation. I also remember times when it single handedly killed drives. Shotty has enough bone headed plays that kill drive, no need to give him more.

I'm not opposed to the wildcat as a change of pace

But this is not the week to unveil it. The Bills have likely practiced against it with Brad Smith running it for them so I think it would be a waste this week. Wait until we face a team that doesn’t have a wildcat guy on their team.

This

Although I wouldn’t mind doing it as a fake punt, like against Tampa Bay in 2009.

I expect the bills to bring in a heavy dose of the wildcat. Just hope jets prepared for it.
