Did a Jet Safety Almost Blow Another Game at the Last Second?

Lots of people - me among them - bemoaned how stupid Smith was, diving as he is want to do in heavy run support on the last TD of the Denver game. We saw our whole season disintegrate in brain lock. And all of us wanted Pool out there, just our luck that he was injured. But did Pool make the same degree of a horrible mistake on the Johnson drop? It pretty much looks like Revis was giving Johnson the inside by design (no sideline throws here) and passing him off to Pool. But where is Pool? He is way too far inside, no? In the third shot you can see that he is even with Revis, not playing over the top. At the time of the drop he isn't within 5 yards of Johnson.

In interview Revis says he wasn't worried about the play as it was unfolding because Leonhard "broke down" (off his coverage?) and was heading over to stop the TD, but he was quite far from the play as you can see in the screen shots. This was going to be a huge gain, and likely a TD.

It looks like we came "this close" to another last second Tebow, a blown coverage by a safety in support. And it looks to me (not knowing the whole story) like Pool played this almost as bad as Smith did in the game before.
