We didn't come out of the gate the way we had planned. Injuries and miscues and a mistaken identity has had us a bit off balance and out of character. We've seen bits and pieces of our potential, some flashes of brilliance. But never any consistency. Now its time... Its time... Its time to put it together on all sides of the ball. Its time to serve notice. Its time to take a stranglehold of the division.
We thought we were a 3-WR offense. We thought we could spread you out, find the weak spot and poke at it in one-on-one matches with precision and timing. Mistake. Thats not us. Thats not how Sanchez rolls. Now we're back to being who we are. We run the rock, move Keller around and into space, and use that to free up everybody else. Sanchez is a playmaker. He's at his best when we can let him move around and work off play-action. We're back to that, finally. Now lets put it on the Bills and do what we do.
We match up well with Buffalo. They struggle against the run, and Keller OWNS them. They are the perfect opponent for our offense to go to work on. Their weaknesses fit into our strengths. Also our defense is a bad match for their offense. They rely on precision and timing. Our defense is designed to disrupt precision and timing. We jam and re-route and blitz. We'll give Fitz fits. And their starting LT will be out to boot. Its time... for Mayhem.
I also like the Giants against the Pats this week. Its another bad match-up for the Pats. Eli is having a very good season and he's gonna carve up that secondary. The Giants are going to score points and force Brady to be great. If Brady if forced to drop back 40+ times, the Giants pass rush is going to engulf him their fair share of times. Even if the Pats win, the G-men will have taken their pound of flesh.
With a win, we're primed to control the division. Its time to put our stamp on this bad boy. I don't want to just beat the Bills. I want to bludgeon them. I want to send the message that the Jets are a team to be feared. With a win and a Pats loss, we'll not only be in control of the division, but we'll be positioned to deal a death blow to the Pats the following week. Its time...
Its time for Greene and Holmes to go off. Its time for Keller to break out. Its time for Pace to take over. Its time for Cro to be solid. Its time for McKnight to make plays on offense. Its time for Mangold and Harris to be Mangold and Harris. Its time for some Kenrick Freaking Ellis.
Its time to take this league by the freaking throat.
