Its time to face facts people. The New York Jets are not going to win a superbowl with Mark Sanchez or Brian Shottenheimer as OC. While Mark is a nice guy and an ok QB he makes way to many mistakes to be able to make it all the way to a superbowl. Forget the fact that he takes the entire first half to get going. He has a very long stride and long windup when he's passing that the oppositions defence has been exploiting. He also seems to be having a big problem reading defences. If that wasn't enough watching the pregame show last night they were talking about how he gives away what the coming play is. He licks his fingers if it a pass and puts his left foot back if the play is going left. While I don't know if this is entirely true or not if it happens at all if kills your offence.
As for Brian Shottenheimer his play calling does not seem to adapt to an opposition defence. The Jets just keep doing the same things over and over again when they don't work.
What is it going to take to face the facts? A 1-15 season? Look at the games that we have lost this year how many of them were caused by the offence giving points to the other team? While or defence has had lapses like at the end of last nights game they only gave up 10 points all night the rest came from the offence. How many missed opportunities has the offence had or given away?
I think we need a pass rush some new offensive line help and a new QB and deep threat wide reciever for next years draft. What do you think?
