Bad news, folks. Manish Mehta is reporting that he has been told that S Brodney Pool won't be playing this weekend. Obviously this isn't official until the Jets release their final injury reports, but if true, this isn't great news. S Eric Smith is known for being terrible against the pass, especially against tight ends.

And man, do the Patriots have some good TEs. Since Pool isn't a starter it isn't as bad as say, when Jim Leonhard broke his leg last year before the Blowout That Shall Not Be Named, but it's not ideal. He has a strained MCL and it sounds like is week-to-week. I'll let you know if I hear anything else.
