Manish Mehta wrote a story indicating Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, and Derrick Mason all met with Rex Ryan recently to complain about the job Brian Schottenheimer is doing. The Jets made a statement denying it. It was released before today's game.

The New York Jets deny a report this morning that wide receivers Plaxico Burress, Santonio Holmes and Derrick Mason have gone to Head Coach Rex Ryan individually in the past few weeks to question offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer’s system.

We cannot say for sure what really happened. At face value, it seems to me that the Jets have more incentive than Manish to not be honest. Manish looks unprofessional if he is wrong. The Jets have a PR problem if he is right. Perhaps Manish got a bad tip, but his work as a beat writer has been top notch. He has a ton of credibility. That is just my take on it.
