It would have been nice to see the Bills lose today and give us a tie for 2nd place in the AFC East. But to be honest, any day that results in a Patriots loss is good enough for me. With that said, the Jets are still 1 game behind both the Bills and the Patriots, which means a win against the Bills would give us just a little more control of our own destiny.
For the Patriots, and from a realistic standpoint, I only see two more games that are legitimately loseable - our next game against them at MetLife, and their late-November game at Philadelphia. A division title for us seems a bit of a stretch at this point.
However, it is imperative that we win against Buffalo - who have a much more testing schedule for that young team than the Patriots - and make sure that they go into the tough weeks ahead with no momentum at all.
Our schedule is pretty tough in my opinion. There are a bunch of trap games (at Denver, and against the Giants) as well as games against hot-cold teams (KC, Washington), and the elite teams (NE, Philadelphia).
If the Jets want to prove to all the critics out there that they are a top team in the AFC or the entire NFL, they need to put the Bills in their place - preferably 3rd place - with an absolutely merciless beating next week and head into Foxborough with all the momentum.
