We got our asses handed to us.  Shit happens.  Maybe more often than in the last two years but it happens.  Get over it.

I more than anyone want to scream "Same Old Jets," but I hold my tongue because it means NOTHING.

Maybe this team has taken a serious step back from the last 2 seasons, maybe we're just experiencing growing pains

We beat one playoff-iffy team (Dallas), crushed a perennial loser (Jaguars), got crushed by a team with plenty of skill players (Raiders) and got beaten even more badly by a perennial playoff team tonight.  If we were the New England Patriots, would there be any shame in that?  If we were the Steelers?  The Manning-Colts?  The Chargers?

Are you going to tell me that those teams are not capable of having this exact scenario play out for them?  As one loudmouth once said before his trip to Revis Island "Child please!"

The difference between a team with real potential and a perennial loser is how they respond to adversity.  Evaluation of a real winner is not how many times they lost, but how many times they won.

The last 3 Superbowl Champions have not experienced adversity in the slightest, so it is perfectly reasonable to say that the struggling in the regular season means your team is not ready for the big game.

But do you think Tom Coughlin gives a shit that in 2007 his team's defense allowed an average of 5 TDs per game in his 6 losses?  I'm pretty sure he'll just let his ring and massive contract answer that question for you.

Maybe this isn't "OUR YEAR."  Then again, all it takes is one big winning streak, one big game, one big performance by one player, or even one big play - to change a season for the better...or the worse.
