It's funny that, it was just 2009 when the Jets entered they're first year of "rebuilding".
I'm not sure what else you would call, entering the season with a first year head coach and a quarterback who was still, kind of, sort of, unproven in the college game. In 2009 the Jets came out run heavy, with heavy doses of
Thomas Jones, to my remembrance. Until he wore down toward the end of the season and
Shonn Greene "picked up what he was puttin' down", so to speak. Fast forward to 2011 and many Jet fans are having serious doubts whether Shonn Greene is a true "every down back", for lack of a better word. I'm not a stats guy and i'm not gonna bother google-ing stuff, because i'm lazy, but in 2009, Thomas Jones got handed the ball... A LOT. He wasn't gonna rack up 120 yds. on 10 carries, he wasn't Adrian Peterson. He, like Greene, required 20-25 snaps a game to wear defenses down. Anyway I'm getting way off topic. My point is, I guess, that we are, still, re-building. Sanchez and Greene are still young and improving and deflecting a lot of criticism, with class. Look at the
Ravens, Bucs,
Browns,
Vikings,
Seahawks,
Raiders Bengals, you can't tell me they're more confident with there QB situations, then we are with Sanchez. Let the teams "nuts drop", let the draft picks come into there own gentlemen, patience is a virtue.
