David Harris: Stay or Go? Part 3: Blitzing
Rex Ryan's scheme gives everybody a chance to rush the quarterback. Harris does a decent job at this, although one cannot expect him to break Michael Strahan's record soon. He blitzes with a lot of aggression. Even when he gets engaged, he keeps fighting through, pushing his blocker back. I seldom see Harris allow a man blocking him to be able to help on another guy.
Harris does not have many moves, but he is not a pass rusher by trade. Overall, he is a net plus as a blitzer. He is near the top end in the league in categories like quarterback pressures and hits at his position. He does get called upon more than most guys, but he does get the job done his fair share of times.

Partner him with a pass rushing MLB
The Can’t Wait, superman needs to get off the team and become a motivational speaker to use his talents effectively.
And the home of the .... JETS!!!
Now lets get a G-D snack!!!
I agree
I wish the team would cut ties with Scott but that is Rex’s boy and he will never release him. He defends Ryan all the time and he is the vocal leader of the defense. His skills have diminished and you can see how much he benefited from playing alongside Ray Lewis and Suggs. He can’t cover anyone and he gets push around by lockers all the time. Also, did you see Mendenhall pull him into the endzone in the AFC championship game?? He is being overpaid and they need to approach him about redoing his contract. The Jets need to get a pass rushing DE/OLB like Suggs.
