Chauncey Washington and Jarron Gilbert Named to Practice Squad
Jenny Vrentas Tweeted the news:
RB Chauncey Washington was added to practice squad. So was DE Jarron Gilbert.
S Brodney Pool (ankle) is on the bike again. He missed yesterday, too
Also, Tony Richardson was back out there practicing today!

One More Cut?
By my count the Jets have 54 players (plus Holmes) now.
Turner, Brown, and Dixon were added. Clowney, Washington, and Richardson were cut.
Richardson was brought back, and Jackson was cut.
Revis signs. Who is the next cut?
Yup, Revis is exempt for a few weeks. Not sure exactly how many.
and the home of the... JETS!!!

Now let's go eat a goddamn snack!
Thanks for the info and link
That’s a quirky rule, and I can’t think of any other sports that give out roster exemptions other than in case of multiple injuries (NBA). Seems like the Jets are creatively using difficult circumstances to their advantage by bringing Dixon, Brown and Turner aboard for what probably amounts to a tryout. It will be interesting to see if they stick with Revis, Holmes and possibly Coles requiring roster spots in the future.
This is why we kept McKnight and not Chauncey.
Chauncey was brought back, McKnight never would have been able to go through waivers. We now get to keep them both. Even if you don’t like McKnight, this makes sense. Better too have both guys than to have one and lose the other. Chauncey is a victim of personnel. Without Greene, he probably makes the team, but with Green and LT, we already have a couple of between the tackle runners, so he doesn’t need to be on the 53 man, because during any one game the odds of him getting a lot of touches are small, because he isn’t a great catching back. McKnight can help in the receiving game and the return game, which is why he is on the team. If Green or LT go down, Washington will have a spot here, and I feel comfortable in having him as depth on our practice squad.
I do agree that Chauncey is more ready to contribute now, it’s just that what he could potentially contribute is already being brought to the table by Greene, and to an extent, LaDainian. While Chauncey is more polished then McKnight, McKnight just happens to fill a role nobody fills. Chauncey is more of a guy who I see carrying the ball 15 times a game or more, McKnight is a 10 touch per game guy.
I do feel very comfortable knowing Chauncey is waiting in the wings in case of an injury.
I don't know why that came out as a reply to you dv,
meant to just start a new thread.
This is why we kept McKnight and not Chauncey.
I never thought of that but a good point.
I wouldn't really look at it like that...
being on the practice squad really means nothing, I mean every other team is still free to sign him when ever they want, he just has something to do till then, and the Jets get to see more of him.
YES!
Chauncey might be last years Matt Kroul… Glad we can find out now.
Word.
