Will Kyle Wilson Return Punts With Darrelle Revis Back?
Kyle Wilson was a dynamic return man at Boise State. Mike Westhoff named him the primary punt returner a month ago. He did not return any punts in preseason. Perhaps this was because the Jets wanted to get a look at other guys like Larry Taylor and Joe McKnight. It also might have been because Darrelle Revis' absence pushed Wilson into a starting role, and the Jets did not want to put too much on his plate or risk losing him to injury.
Now Revis is back, and Wilson will slide to the nickel role. Taylor is off the roster. McKnight might not even be active for the opener. The door is now open for Wilson to take the punt returning role and give the team another dangerous weapon.

Please say it is so.

Like most things in the nfl.
Young players are seldomly handed a job without proving their worth in game situations. Joe has shown an interesting dynamic so far when returning punts. It’s probably his job to loose untill he proves ineffective and Kyle Wilson shown more valuable.
On a side note. I hope a fire gets lit under McKnight’s ass when he finds that his one job could be in jeopardy.

IDK...
they have probably been working him there in practice all summer, just wouldn’t use him in game situation in case of injury I think. He was great at it in college. I think there is a good chance they let him, especially if Rex wants to leave McKnight inactive, which I’m sure he does.
I would agree with that
Im not really sure whats best for this kid (joe) at this point. Im gonna trust the coaches on this one.

Yes please
put him back there hell b a star just watch his college return highlights and please no mcknight showings on punt returns hell cough up the ball and our super bowl chances
So Joe McKnights returns in college don't count?
But Wilsons do? Ah, okay. For the record, I am down with either of these guys returning, but, if Wilson fumbles the first punt this monday against the Ravens, I am afraid there will be a mass cry of “Cut his stupid rookie immature fumbling ass!” over here at GGN.
Well, we can look at both...
I don’t think McKnight really has been a returner since his freshman year, he has had a few the last two, but not many. overall in three years he was 38-254-0 with a 6.68 avg. for his career
Wilson was the starting PR the last two years a Boise State. 90-793-3 with an 8.81 avg. for his career
Remember Jason Sehorn
I think he would be better than McKnight as well but I wouldn’t put the kid in any more injury risk than necessary. I think the Jets will let Cromartie walk next season and use the money to sign Holmes and maybe even Braylon Edwards together.
Rex wont let Cromartie walk b4 brylon or holmes

I think that depends entirely on their play...
if I was a betting man I’d lay my money on Holmes (because honestly I think he is simply the best player of the three).
I understand the thinking about cromartie, but Rex doesn’t make those decisions by himself, and we essentially just drafted a replacement for Cromartie in Wilson. I also just came back from SD, and let me tell you every Chargers fan said you will hate Cromartie by the end of the season, he is garbage (conversely they all said we made a huge steal by getting LT, and the Chargers made a huge mistake) now that has yet to be seen, and its all roses now, but I have a feeling Cromartie is going to be more trouble than he’s worth.
Punt Returns
as long as it’s not Leonhard returning punts, i don’t care if it’s Wilson or Brad Smith. Just keep Leonhard on the defensive side of the ball.
