Dustin Keller Should Remain Mark Sanchez's First Look
Dustin Keller has been Mark Sanchez's primary target early in 2010. He leads the Jets with 24 targets. For some perspective, Jerricho Cotchery and Braylon Edwards have combined for 28. It seems as though the Jets made him a focal point in the game plan against New England and Miami, teams that have shown issues matching up with athletic tight ends.
The Bills are another team that has struggled early in the year defending the tight end, particularly without Paul Posluszny. The linebacker sprained his MCL in the opener against Miami and missed the next two games. He might suit up Sunday, but he has been limited in practice this week. Aaron Hernandez and Rob Gronkowski combined for 10 catches and 110 yards against Buffalo last week. Jermichael Finley had 103 yards on 4 receptions the week before.
The way Keller is playing, the potential is there for a big game. Even if Posluszny is ready, they should still attack him and see whether there is any rust.

It will be really interesting this week...
Since it’s Santonio’s first game. I’m really wondering what Sanchize will do – is he gonna keep trusting in Keller, or will he try and establish a rapport with Mr. Holmes?

Well, then
I guess I can save those questions for next week, eh?

I really hope he does well
I was a big fan of his while he was at VA Tech.

I don't think it is OR situation rather AND
I think (and hope) he can do both. I think it can get to the point where he will go to either and feel comfortable doing so. It will depend on what the defense gives you, if the D wants to take away Holmes go to Keller and vice versa. I could see Sanchez going to Holmes a lot the first game or two to establish him on the outside so they can learn each.

Sure the throws to Keller are easier than the ones to WR's
I’m all for Sanchez feeding Keller first before trying to get his WR’s the ball. He’s not quite as adept at hitting his receivers outside and/or downfield as he is hitting his TE straight down the middle.
