Darrelle Revis Probably Out Against Buffalo Bills; Calvin Pace Probably In

Rex Ryan produced some mixed injury news today.

Jets coach Rex Ryan is not optimistic that cornerback Darrelle Revis will play in this Sunday’s road game against the Bills but is upbeat that outside linebacker Calvin Pace can return.

I have been saying this for a while, but Revis should sit until he's healthy. He showed against the New England that he's not doing the Jets any favors by playing hurt. The team can't build its scheme around him locking down the other team's best receiver, and he risks making his injury worse, which would cost him more time.

A Pace return would be most welcomed. I'm looking forward to seeing what he and Jason Taylor can do playing across from each other. It will also allow Rex to rotate the two with Bryan Thomas so all three will stay fresh with more limited snaps.

BT and JT were already playing at a pretty high level, adding CP to mix is going to be bad news for opposing offenses.

Sit em' both!

I’m totally in favor of both of them sitting. I can’t say that after Buffalo played NE pretty well-adding Special Teams-that it should be a piece of cake, but unless Sanchez throws 2+ picks this game shouldn’t be close.
Greene and LT should go off and the D should be able to handle the Buffalo O without Pace.
I’m skeptical that Pace is going to be 100% and not risk further set backs, the same about Revis!
Let em’ sit and hope they are ready to go 100% vs. Vikings!

I trust that the team would'nt rush the activation of either player.

Both need to be 100% with no threat of re-injury for the long haul. I have no reason to believe that Pace is not fully ready to come back. No offense to the Bills but I don’t think the Coaching staff would rush Pace back for this particular game. And Revis can sit for another week for all I care. We got this.

I want Revis in BUT

resting him this game will get Revis 2 weeks of rest with the bye. We need him 100% not nursing a hammy. We will pay dearly if he reinjures it.

With pace IDK a broken foot is a broken foot it is either healed or it isn’t. I Don’t really see a middle ground here. If he comes back to early and something happens, say goodbye until like week 10.

Resting them both is the safe play, but if Pace plays cause he is ready thats okay imo.
