The Great Escape
I'm not sure whether I can handle AFC East nailbiters like this all year long. The Jets are 2-1 with head to head victories over their two competitors for the division crown. It looked like we were heading for an easy night in the early going, but Miami gave Gang Green all it could handle. It was a typical Jets-Dolphins nailbiter. For once, the guys from New York came out on top. We finally don't have to listen to Miami fans talk about last year's sweep.
It was nice to see the offense help carry the defense, although the guys on the defensive side of the ball did just enough.
The official recap will be up in a bit.

Huge win
I think Revis is still underpaid based on the way the defense looked tonight without him.

We looked bad at times dude
To many wide open receivers but I hear you, I was thinking that after last game, Jason Taylor in his prime probably has more of an impact.
Except...
We did BETTER without him last week.
We’ll see. He would have been in this game instead of nursing an injury that is the result of not being conditioned due to his stupid hold out. And our lousy secondary coverage against the Ravens were because Rex was going easy on Revis and trying to keep him from moving.
We’d probably be 3-0 if not for Revis right now. I can’t say I’m too happy with him right now. Plus, he’s likely to be sluggish when he returns in week 5. Ugh. Hopefully he’s back to form when we play Green Bay.
Whew
That game was beyond stressful, but the result was excellent. Sanchez played another nice game, and they played aggressively (which I love to see). But I have to sort of agree with rxmeister – without Revis, that secondary got ABUSED.

Nah.. Henne threw all over the place last year in their home game against us and Revis played all day.

I need an ambulance because
these games gave me friggen heart palpaltations I swear. But I love to see my boys come out on top – especially against the teams I hate the most. The intensity of the game makes the win feel THAT MUCH better. And although it’s late and I’m tired and I WILL sleep better tonight because of the awesome win…there’s too much adrenaline flowing right now to close my eyes. What a great game.
I gotta give Schotty a lot of credit. The offense was aggressive all night, especially that last drive. No sitting on the lead and babying Sanchez like they would have last year.

Overall I was happy with the offense...
I’m getting happier about LT every game and can’t wait for Holmes.
Hopefully, the Sanchez currently playing is here to stay!
It’s time to go buy a Drew Coleman jersey.
If they even sell those.

I can't wait
Next game is Buffalo. And i wouldn’t be suprised if they sit Revis for that one too. Then it’s Minnesota, and Revis, Pace and Holmes should all be playing.
No Revis No Pace No Jenkins No Holmes ... No Matter
Talent took over regardless.
As much as this hurts lol
Good game guys… The Jets are a tough team and if Sanchez continues to play lights out then this team will go places. I still hate Crackback but your will say your team did very well tonight.

semi-classy post lol
I will let CB defend himself as he sees fit, but thanks for coming over and showing some good sportsmanship. I know how bitter it must be for you, cause dude this was a mirror image of the games last year and up until an hour ago I still felt the bad taste in my mouth. Still your team showed heart and its not like we are head and shoulders above you. Just on this night. Keep it classy dude.

Great game guys
but If I’m Rex, I’m BEYOND PISSED that my pide and joy defense gave up 363 yards passing to Chad friggin Henne.

no
that’s because the Jets are missing their best pass rusher and the runner-up for DPOY last year. if revis, pace, and holmes play, this game is a beatdown
by Crimetime Island on Sep 27, 2010 12:06 AM EDT up reply actions
He is good and...
Don’t get too cocky guys. That’s the last thing we need going into next week. The Bills took Miami to the edge and look what they just did with the Pats at home. We best not get ahead of ourselves. Savor this because it was a great win, a hard win and a win away from home. However… if anything is gonna murder us this year it’s gonna be when confidence becomes arrogance.
but minus Jenks Revis and Pace
nut they did roll over at the end. Henne made some throws, the defense messed up coverage a few times.

I gotta say...
The Monday night game last year killed me. (And I’m not even gonna comment on the implosion that was the second game.) I needed a heart attack inducing game to go my way.
Great game though. The AFC East is gonna be interesting. How great would it be to see the Pats at the bottom? (There’s something we can all agree on!)
HOW BOUT DEM JETS
Who knew the offense would be this efficient if thats the case Superbowl talk is more than legit Santonio Holmes anyone.
Worst called game ever...
even with the win I’m still bitter cause it should have never been that close, BS calls.

Thats why I didn't understand why Jets and Fin fans were talking so much noise
I was thinking to myself “people must be forgetting about all the close games that have been played, these teams can’t dominate each other. These games are nail biters.”
.
I was impressed by the Henne, he is futhewr along then I expected,
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
I for one...
Save my talking till after the game is over. Talk is cheap.
As someone who attended the playoff game against the Chargers last year, I took so much crap ALL GAME. (It was the first pro game I ever attended.) Lemme tell you how sweet it was walking out of that stadium.
Yep.
I live in Las Vegas and got the tickets at the last minute because a friend bought them ahead of time because he was SURE the Pats were gonna win and would be going.
Haha. Anyway, I got the tickets when he called me. “There is no way in hell I am going to watch the ****** Jets play.”
wow that must of been awesome
no one gave us a chance in holy hell in that game.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
It was.
A buddy who didn’t care either way went with me and we were in the middle of a huge throng of San Diego fans. Too bad because a big group of Jets’ fans were in the section to my right.
I had to endure so much crap while there. We even had a few geniuses trying to stop Jets’ fans from entering the bathroom and all kinds of immature crap. I can’t count the number of times I had to hear “Jets suck!”
Well… when Shonn Green broke the secondary, my buddy and I start jumping up and down and were screaming like crazy right in the middle of that group to… silence.
I left that stadium with the biggest grin. That was a hell of a way to experience my first (and thus far, only) live pro game.
Holy crap.
That must have been one of the best feelings ever. I envy you, dude.

Oh How I Feel You on that!!!
I was there at Qualcomm last year for the playoffs too. It really sux when your friends who you live with in San Diego, dog you out and push you under the bus when you are wearing a Jets jersey in Daygo!!! Can’t understand why…lol. Anyway this rivalry is just reheating. Maybe we can go on another 3 year sweep of the fins like we did in the late 90’s!!!
Yeah Ryan should have
Threw the flag when dude didn’t get both feet down the wide receiver I think Bess on Wilson.
That play...
Changed the whole game. That third down conversion really got the Fish in gear and it was just flat out different at that point. I was so pissed off when there was no booth review or anything of such an obviously incomplete catch.
Yeah some bad bad calls Judge, you're 100% right.
Should’ve been way worse than the score.
Cant handle these anymore
My stomach is still turning lol but i do enjoy these kind of games and great effort from both teams
Think about it we missed
Jenkins,Revis,Pace,Holmes,Braylon 4 1 quarter, how many teams can loose that and win like this. I guess Steelers with Roethlisburger but still this team is solid I’m glad we have gotten away from Hardknocks and back to football this team is hungry and blue collar no Hollywood this year.
Awesome!
I think Sanchez has really arrived!
Where are those Phinsider troll idiots now?
Is it NFL time yet?
Although...
He got lucky tonight on one of them. (I guess everyone does though.)
He’s looking so good though. I’m really excited about Holmes coming in now.
Eh...
some bad coverage certainly, but they couldn’t really run it, and were getting a lot of second chances with the bad calls. Add Revis and that game changes 100%
I still have that half sholvel pass Sanchez threw into Lanford's arms.Flashing into my mind....

Over rated...
he’s a nice player, but no where close to JT in his prime. Dolphins in general had a very poor pass rush the entire game. Jets were good in the 1st quarter and that was it.
lets not go there yet

Keep in mind....
We won this game on the road, against a tough divisional opponent, with a couple of our best defensive players out hurt, and with all of the distraction from Braylon’s DUI.
Under the circumstances, any win is a good one.
HAHAHAHAHA
And don’t forget, they were wearing their Orange jerseys. A few of the fish fans pointed out that they have never lost while wearing them.
Kind of off topic but...
What’s the deal with the alternate home jerseys? Is there a pattern or reason for wearing them?
Nothing but money
Come out with some other jersey, and people will buy it. It’s just like the old school jerseys. We’ve got the Titans Jersey. The Fish go with Orange, so now they can sell the white, turquois, and Orange.
I knew that much.
But do they have a schedule or event for them?
(I wish we’d do an 80s throwback. I want a hat with our 80s logo. And yes, I am a commercial whore. I’m the reason they wear different colors. Haha.)
They probably will
I’m sure the league will have a throwback week. But i don’t know if the Jets want to wear those jerseys. Not much good came from wearing them. I’ve got my Al Toon jersey on the wall.
Yeah, those were bad days...
But when I was 10-years-old sporting green out here in Nevada, that’s what I wore.
First anime
that got me into anime/manga.
Darrelle Revis once won a game of Connect Four in three moves.
I've got an old
Green Jets hat with the JETS logo with the plane type symbol across the top of the J to S. It’s old, green, and has a mesh back. My neighbor found it in his fathers basement.
They had never lost in those colors
Well that is till tonight bwahahahaha!!!

Anyone see what is happening with the Giants
They look slopy and undisciplined as a team can get. The way the media talks about our players and our coaching styles, it seems we should be having the problems the Giants are having.
I am not a Giant hater but it was just an observation. If we are so terrible and are running a phrat house, it sure does seem that the media should be talking like that about the Giants instead

What I’m saying they all want to take their cheap shots I’m listening to 1050 right now callers were saying same thing.
About the Giants? I did not know that
yeah it is almost unbelievable such a strict team is playing so crappy. Rolle is running his mouth during the week and he and coach Tom C were yelling at each other in todays game..
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Well...
I am a Giant hater and I watched them implode today with a certain amount of sadistic glee. It was beautiful, in its own way.
I'm pretty bad. :P
My mom still calls me on the phone when there’s some blow out happening. “Turn to channel X, you have to see the fans!” She knows what a rot I am. Haha.
Game balls in my opinion.
Mark Sanchez and Brad Smith and if there is a third then Dustin Keller.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Brad Smith...
He’s just a cool player. I’m trying to decide on a jersey to get and he might be the one. I have been really impressed by that guy.
why did we not go back to Keller?
Was he covered?
I am pretty sure they made serious adjustments (I thought anyway) at halftime to take him away.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Brad Smith has this mutant ability to shed tacklers it hilarious even last year
By the way Leon Washington had two kick returns for touchdowns.
Should have been three
He would have had three but he slipped. Leon went nuts.
Yeah, he had the game winning score on that second one and
set the team record for longest kickoff return on the first. I’m happy for the guy, great blocking on their ST and he knows how to make a kicker whiff big time, plus he’s still got his ridiculous speed.
How about Keller and some of his blocking today?
Everyone will talk about his catches, he was key on a couple of LdT’s big runs. They were talking about it on SNY as well.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
I think Keller read some of the comments that were written about him week 2. Not that the comments were real bad or anything but some were not as impressed with Keller (which is understandable) as they thought they would be when he was drafted. Imagine if he puts up stats like this all year….ohhh boyyy!!!!
