AFC East Steals Another: Patrick Brown Claimed by Miami
Thursday, Jets cut OT Patrick Brown.
Today, Brown was claimed on waivers by division-rival, Miami Dolphins. An interesting move for sure, as OT Wayne Hunter has been ailing and Jets now become thin at OT. Hopefully they will go out and pick someone up for some depth there.
Rex has stated Ducasse can play OT as he played it in college. As such, he is listed as active for this week's game. However, the kid has been training as a guard, and he's just learning the zone-blocking system. He looked awful in preseason, and let's not pile more on his plate here.
The Good News? Jets are 1-0 YTD when one of their players signs with the enemy the previous week.

Hey, isn’t that Pete Carroll?
Wayne Hunter is our swing tackle
Keeping nine offensive lineman is tough, two are inactive almost every week. The Jets brought in a bunch of hopeful tackles in training camp, Aaron Kia, Dan Gay, Michael Turkovich. UNDFA’s and all sub standard . Pick up Patrick Brown who had a little expierance with the Vikings, not sure he could play left tackle, but a real candidate at RT… Okay Patrick is cut, possibly didn’t show enough progress.. but could it be that with the success of Slauson at LG, that the Jets are confident to work Vlad at his natural tackle position, and that he has surpassed Patrick Brown.. This is good news to all those folks looking to replace Damien Woody with Vlad Ducasse in 2011
