BREAKING: D'Brickashaw Ferguson and Vernon Gholston Cited as Being Passengers in Braylon's Vehicle
An update in the Braylon Edwards DWI arrest early this morning.
Per SNY Brad Como's Twitter:
BREAKING: SNY has learned that D'Brickashaw Ferguson was a passenger in the car driven by Braylon Edwards at the time of Edwards' arrest.
Ferguson was not taken into police custody. More on SNY throughout the afternoon, starting with Daily News Live at 5pm. #braylon #jets
Manish also added in that Gholston was also in the car:
D'Brickashaw Ferguson AND Vernon Gholston were in car with Braylon Edwards, according to source. #nfl#jets #nyj
More and more is being revealed. I'm kind of surprised D'Brickashaw was in the vehicle with an allegedly legally intoxicated Edwards driving. Not a great situation to put yourself in after recently signing a new contract.
And Gholston, well let's just say he's in a make-or-break year. Little room for error.

Hmm...interesting
I wonder if the Jets are going to have a chat with Ferguson about his status as a role model for the team… (by the way, first!)
Very surprised that Brick got in the car with a guy who was over the limit….very surprised in fact.
Was Braylon sneaking some wine coolers in the bathroom because just don’t see a guy like Brick getting into the car or letting him drive if he’d been knocking back the drinks all night.

Maybe Bray is one of those guys that can hold their liquor well. He does have an uncanny ability to control his body so its not crazy. Or maybe Brick was too tipsy to make that call and made a bad choice in putting his trust in him.
Certainly possible

No excuses!! Leave the car home when you know drinks are going to play a part in your
evening,Once you’re out the alcohol leads to irrational decisions.Three millionaires can’t spring for a limo? The Jets have a car service(limo) that will pick them up anytime, anywhere but once your car is out ,you’re probably driving it home. How about the 5A.M.stay out.Don’t these guys have an early wakeup for Tuesday

lol
Time to cancel the season scold them have braylon make a statement and move on let the league handle it.
Bad decision X2.
Hopefully this virus doesn’t sweep through the team, especially a your impressional Sanchez. Just kidding, I doubt they serve alcohol at Justin Bieber concerts.
Wow
Maybe that’s why Ferguson has been under-performing this year so far – too much palling around and living it up with the hard-partying Braylon Edwards.

I can't put blame on Brick without more information
unless he absolutly knew Edwards was drunk. They could of been not together where ever they were, or Brick could not of been paying attention or something.

Brick could be worth like 50 something million
I would not risk living my nice life on a drunk driver if I were him.

These guys came from a charity event not a night out clubbing
Everyone who saw Braylon, thought he looked fine to drive, why would D’Brick think otherwise? Even the cop didn’t notice anything wrong with his driving, it was his tinted windows.
Get busy winning or get busy losing.
Not only that, but these teammates trust each other, so if one says he is ok to drive, why would they not trust him?

…Yeah. Has the nativity subsided yet? It took Browns fans a while too with Braylon.

Its not even a huge deal to me.
These players are normal people just like you and me, i’m sure plenty of you guys driven drunk before and i’m sure thee are others players around the league who do it, they just don’t get caught. It’s not like Braylon is a raging drunk, its his first offense here and I’m not taking it too seriously. Yes, he could have gotten hurt and hurt our teammates driving with him but I’m not gonna judge the man on something that didn’t happen or what could have happened. Everyone is safe, he made a bonehead decision and he’ll face consequences. The guys a bonehead, we already knew this.

I don’t drink and drive and to act like that about such a serious offense is ridiculous.
1. Braylon Edwards was partying with Stallworth the night Stallworth killed. Hm.
2. Braylon sped through a Cleveland suburb at 120 mph. Hm.
3. Braylon beat up a small dude in the street (LeBron’s friend). Hm.
Dude has character issues and thinks rules don’t apply. It’s ridiculous. I mean he could’ve pulled a Stallworth 2.0 or worse. Stallworth lost a whole year of football.

Go Away, Browns fan. Go back to your 0-2 Browns board.
We don’t need your commentary on this. Besides, he’ll be of much more use to us than he was for your team which STUNK year-in and year-out.
I think you mean he’ll be more use for the other team when one of his dropped footballs lands in the lap of the DB.
I was being completely serious though. We thought he was the shit, was annoyed he was traded but learned we got a great value on him and that he really isn’t anything special, at all. The dude is much more of a cancer than an cure.

The Jets were hardly any better anyways.
Mangini’s last year in NY: 9-7. He’s run out of town. Ryan’s first year: 9-7. But he’s praised because you demolished an otherwise fake Bengals team that lucked it’s way into the playoffs such as your team did, and had a lucky run to the championship game where your hopes were demolished by a clearly superior team. I mean really?
Also, you better not hope last Sunday’s game was a fluke for Sanchez. Because I have seen absolutely nothing else out of your Top 5 (Ouch) pick.

I wonder if you had a few drinks and sprayed a breath freshner in your mouth just before a test, if it would spike.
Hey JUST HEARD ON ESPN RADIO
Edwards asked for breath test thing, he asked the cop.

Varies from state to state
In Washington and California if you refuse a test you’re automatically considered to have failed it.

In NY they automatically revoke your license for 6 months
They can also in court say that you were drunk if you slur your speech, have alcohol on your breath, or are stumbling around, even if you didn’t take the test. This is based off of my knowledge having worked in a NYC DA’s Office.

Clarification
To be clear they don’t do field tests in NY, they have specialized labs in the police stations with breathalyzers and lines to walk on.

Easy to get a work related license and with about $5,000 for a good lawyer
and no accident involved.you stand a good chance of beating it as long as you weren’t totally bombed and caught on camera and a first time offender.Bottom line is if you question your BAC level, never, ever, ever blow unless you want to convict yourself.

with his money I doubt it
he can hire a driver, is what the judge would say imo.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
well I will say this :
I got a breath test thin g at costco: as a gag gift blowing a .12 is like 3 beers (or .008+4 points) you do not feel drunk what so ever.
So now I think Edwars prob did not even realized he was drunk.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
not that it makes it okay or anything
but it does not seem like Edwards said I am drunk but I am still driving.
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Depends...
I know people that I’m perfectly comfortable having drive on a few beers. I also know people that shouldn’t be near the wheel of a car at 1/3 the legal limit.
If he wasn’t driving crazy I’m less apt to be outraged about this.
Sorry to say those breathalysers are toys and not accurate at all.
I bought one in college to use during a rule in some card games that when you blow over a certain level that you can make everyone else take a shot. The thing was never accurate enough to register so I looked it up online and I guess you need to pay over $100 to get one that is reliable.
Unless they have good ones then by all means let me know.
If accurate they be great at parties practically and for entertainment.
There used to be a machine in bars where for 50cents you could blow into it
and get your BAC level. In college we ’d bet who could get it the highest This was when a DWI was .15 not the ridiculous .08
by Putnan Prince on Sep 21, 2010 10:05 PM EDT up reply actions
the same ones the cops use they are just as accurate
We did on the costco one then the one a cop would have same
"Sorry bro, he Jason Bourned me"- Drama
Weird...
If that’s true, he certainly didn’t think he was drunk and he was pulled over for the tinted windows and not for driving crazy. It’s like he was trying to say, “Look, I’m fine.”
However, never ever OFFER the police anything.
Although it’s stupid that he asked for the test, if Brick and Gholston were with him and he asked for the test there was no crazy driving and he was probably fine. Lame.

Braylon is still the best WR playing on either the Browns and the Jets
Get busy winning or get busy losing.
It really doesn't take much to fail a breath test. These are athletes in amazing shape also, so their tolerance is probably through the roof
Get busy winning or get busy losing.
Too bad, it's the law
You know your own weight (especially if you’re an athlete who can get fined for being overweight), you should have seen the chart and know how many drinks it takes to get you over the limit.
Twice over the limit is just flying moronic. It’s one thing to be slightly over (you could have miscalculated), but being double the limit makes me think that one of these things happened:
“It’s my ride, bros, I’m driving. Look, I feel fine anyway.”
or Edwards assumed he wouldn’t possibly get caught.

Exactly from what I' gathering
He was having a conversation with the officer at the time, I’m think Gholston and Ferguson must have have been really drunk usually the least drunk guy drives.
Great team....

Brick is hanging out with Gholston, maybe something is rubbing off.
That would explain a few things about Sunday.

There is absolutely no accurate way to say 2 beers = .x BAC
Everyone’s kidney’s breakdown alcohol differently, some people can process the alcohol faster, and some process slower.
Another factor in your BAC is your weight.
If you are a regular drinker, you’ll feel less drunk after drinking the same amount as a guy who isn’t a regular drinker.
2x the legal limit is absolutely without question, drunk, and he’d know it….unless he was a raging alcoholic, in which case the NFL would easily have him in the substance program already.

do some of you guys teach classes on this stuff. sure hope the kids are not missing out on all this wisdom. next year when all these wonderful role models get locked out and have nothing to do but….whatever……probably a fifth of the league will wind up in the slammer with no one to give a damn about whether they are still a starter. shows how much they care about fans, their team, each other……and oh yeah – the poor kid that winds up as roadkill.
The sad thing is that thats the closest Gholston will ever get to an offensive player
