Shonn Greene from a Fantasy Perspective

Life long Buffalo Bills fan, sorry, but respect the Jets and rooting for them to represent the AFC East this year since we are in serious rebuilding mode in route to contending for 2014 Super Bowl in New York [New Jersey] ;)

Anyway, drafted Shonn Greene in my Fantasy League and wanted to get a perspective from true NYJ fans on how you expect his stats to be this year in Rushing yards, Receiving yards and TDs. Although LT seems to have gotten his legs back and behind your stellar OL, I still see Shonn with over 250 carries especially since you ran the ball over 600 times last year. Sanchez from an outside perspective doesn't seem ready to put the team on his back thus the Jets will need to run and play D like last year?

I think LT is going to get at least half the goal line looks.

Shonn Greene is a great player, but I don’t think he’s going to score as many tds as people think.

Shonn may be the typical goal line back, but LT has that freakish leap. LT looks better than I thought he would I say he gets close to half the carries. LT also is the only pass catching option out of the backfield so he adds that dimension in goal line situations. Other option is Conner, he may be looked at to run the ball more than TRich was in short yardage, so they come out with LT and Conner in most goal line situations they have more options.

I got him in the 2nd Round

in all three of my 10 team leagues but also have a top 4 back and Ryan Matthews so I’m not too worried. From a non-fantasy perspective I think he’ll be fine and people injury concerns will be proved incorrect. The first few games will be telling on how the rest of the season will go though.

is not a top 4 back.

If your top two picks are Mathews and Greene, you’re not going to finish in the top half of your league.

I think Greene will get the bulk of the carries for sure, but LT out of the backfield catching passes and in goal-line situations would concern me if I drafted Greene.
