This evening I sent Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk an e-mail challenging him to a non monetary wager on Sunday's Jets-Patriots game. We will take the Jets and the 22 points from his spread.
We will keep you posted on the response we get.

…that he was reporting what the media wanted to hear? Of course everyone wants to see the Jets thrashed- and Florio putting that into words jacks up his ratings. I don’t think anyone believes the Patriots are going to win by 22. Hell, Florio clearly doesn’t even believe the Patriots are going to win by 22. That’s all kinds of ridiculous.
I don't think it's that ridiculous an idea
It’s just his assertion that it will happen bothering us hypersensitive fans.
It’s the polar opposite of last week for the Jets. The defense will be tested to the extreme while the offense faces a D that’s arguably been on the decline for a while. I think a lower scoring game is a more likely scenario than a 22 point blowout.

So you’re defending his tactics?
It’s bad journalism. You’re supposed to report on the game and how it will break down, not by what jacks up ratings. That’s ridiculous.

Hell no am I defending his tactics.
Mike Florio is an ass/idiot/etc. I’m just explaining what he’s doing. If the Patriots weren’t playing the Jets, he’d talk about how the Patriots are too young and are going to lose. There are only a few things that most fans can agree on:
1) Big Ben is an idiot and an easy target.
2) The Patriots losing is a good thing.
3) Cockiness deserves ruin.
Florio will only write about these three things. However, in this case, the cockiness of the Jets trumps the “everyone likes to see the Patriots lose.”
So I’m not defending Florio. Just explaining what he’s doing.

I am almost scared to post this but...
if Schi… I mean Schotty, Sanchize, and the O have a repeat of Mon we won’t score 12pts. And if Cro and Wilson don’t get it together that Pats could repeat that 30 pt performance from last year. Does any body believe Cro or Wilson’s perfomance Mon would stop Welker from getting 300 yrds? I alomost called for Lowery Monday night. Last if we give up 125 yrds of penalties with the bulk coming on 3rd and 4th downs, we better hope they don’t put up 50!

we are tired of getting kicked around in the media – Florio said pats would score 35 ill take the jets and 35 points put up or shut up florio!!
I HAVE ALWAYS BELEIVED SHOTTY HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM HE PUT WAY TOO MUCH ON SANCHEZ FIRST YEAR, AND IT COSTS US MANY GAMES, AND ITS STARTING THIS YEAR-IMO ITS NO OUR PLAYERS ITS THE PLAY CALLING, WE HAVE THE BACKS FOR MANY MORE SCREENS , RECEIVERS IN THE SLOT AND DEEP- , MORE AIR TIME IS NEEDED THEN WHEN THAT PICKS UP USE THE RUN- THE EFFECTIVENESS OF BOTH PROVIDE A MUCH BETTER RESULT.
Florio can't help himself....
Maybe it’s a chromosome deficiency or something….I don’t know.
But he’s been like this since he started his blog (that’s right, he’s a blogger) in 2001 and getting picked up by a network doesn’t legitimize him in my book. He’s entitled to his opinion, but crosses the line as a reporter and journalist when he whines an opines the way he does. Do any of you actually believe that his opinion has any more value than ours?
Let’s ignore the ignorant and get ready for New England.
