It's Not Coles: Jets Bring Back Clowney

PrintWith the release of RB/WR Danny Woodhead, the Jets were obviously going to bring in another WR, being that they only had three active WRs listed on roster.
What'd they do? They brought back WR David Clowney.
Rod Boone tweeted the news:
The #Jets are on the verge of re-signing WR David Clowney, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
Source tells me things started in motion last night after the game and Clowney was here at the facility today finalizing new deal. #Jets

Lol at least he has speed and with some playing time maybe he can do something. He’s always been amazing during the preseason then disappeared during the regular & honesty i prefer him over coles.
I don't prefer him over Coles, no way
We don’t need speed, we have Braylon for vertical routes and Cotchery can occasionally run one too (as he did last night but Sanchez threw a terrible pass).
We need a solid route runner, with good hands, for third downs. Clowney is not that. Coles knows the system, and he’ll pick up the short yards in clutch situations.

I’m crossing my fingers that Mangini probably likes Clowney, so we end up trading him for Shaun Rogers. But it’s not gonna happen.

Out of all receivers to sign
We pick the guy that our special teams coach roasted on national television because he didnt bring jack to our team. We barely threw the ball that well to know if we need the added depth at WR or not, I dont understand this signing NOR the cutting of Woodhead.
Tannenbaum is to blame.
I can’t stand him! he is a bottom line guy and not a football guy. evidenced by how easily he let’s veteran leaders walk (Pete Kendall, T.J., Faneca, etc) even when there is NO salary cap and when the player (T.J.) isn’t cost prohibitive. Why in god’s name is Mcknight still on the roster but we cut Woodhead Tannenbaum? "well, bottom line is we WASTED a draft pick on Mcknight and we have to justify it. Regardless of the fact that he currently has Zero value on the active roster.

I watched Mcknight on Hard Knocks
He didn’t look like a player that really wanted it.
