After last night's game, I've been hearing a lot of chatter about possibly putting Clemens in place of Sanchez if Sanchez performs the same way in week 2 vs the Patriots. I am usually not one of those people that jumps the gun, but a little voice in my head tells me that that might be a viable option. Clemens in his first start nearly led us to a victory against the Ravens in week 2 of the 2007 season. And quite personally, I think that if McCareins did not drop that one ball that would have been a sure touchdown. Who knows? Maybe that one game would have had a snowball effect on Clemens confidence, and he develops into a franchise quarterback. Perhaps the reason why he looked lost last year when he subbed for Sanchez is because he's still shellshocked from the savage beating he took in 07' compliments of Pete Kendell and a dysfunctional line. Maybe he regained his confidence and is actually poised to line up behind center and put points on the board.
But lets look at the other side of the argument, shall we?
Maybe last night was not Sanchez's fault at all. Maybe it was a combination of vaginal play calling, asenine penalties, and a lack of push from the line that made our running game sub par. Or was it that Revis should have been placed on Boldin that screwed us? Or was it Keller not knowing where the first down marker is? Maybe Sanchez is indeed an elite franchise QB in the making and he is due to burst out come next week because of some divine intervention.
Perhaps this fanpost is just a way for me to vent my melancholy after last night's travesty, but either way, I would like everyone's opinion on
A.) What exactly was it that screwed us last night
B.) Junk Sanchez if his numbers stay the same, or try Clemens?
