Darrelle Revis Camp "Waiting For A Response"
Update~ Not good news I'm afraid, from Manish:
Is Woody Johnson optimistic Revis will be signed by start of season? "No." Also says "no progress". Wow.
Mike tannenbaum says revis proposal wasn't anything fundamentally different/new. Still not on same page re: Total compensation.
Woody Johnson says "no movement" and "nothing new and different" on Revis' proposals
Tannenbaum on Revis proposal: "Fundamentally there wasn’t a change. There were some technical changes we looked at"
Manish Mehta reports that an offer has been extended by the Revis camp to owner Woody Johnson:
"We met with Mike this past Friday in Roscoe, NY at the Roscoe Diner," Revis' agent Jonathan Feinsod told The Daily News. "HBO wanted to be there, but we declined. At that meeting, we presented Mike with a proposal to show Mr. Johnson. We are waiting for a response."
I'm sure everyone is as tired of talking about this as I am, but hopefully a resolution will come soon. If the offer is reasonable, hopefully we can get Revis in camp very soon, if it's not; well then we're right back to square one.
It's a sit and wait game, but at least the two sides are talking. Remember that in accordance with the current labour agreement, if Revis does not show up by midnight tomorrow, he loses one year towards free agency.

this is just to get the ball rolling. the agents shoot high, the jets will shoot low. hopefully they can negotiate to some common ground. i want revis on the field to make B.marshall disappear on his island.
this is true
but couldn’t this part of the “negotiations” been done months ago?
España 2010 Campenoes del Mundo!!!
man I wish this was the case
Won’t know of course until ESPN 60 for 60 comes out in 2040 and details how we were all duped into this sideshow for entertainment purposes.

Also when Woody was asked if he was confident Revis would be signed to start the season. He answered “No”

Wow, that’s fantastic. Let’s all assume Revis, or rather (Sean Gilbert) is being totally unreasonable, arrogant, ignorant, greedy and selfish and assume the JETS are trying to afford the possibility of signing Mangold, Harris and the dozen or so, one year players we’ll desperately need to continue to have success.
Grow up and compromise—act like you have some negotiating skills and a common interest i.e. a Super Bowl
Still wants it all....
Having been a huge Revis fan during the season it sickens me to see how easily duped he can be. He wants to follow in his uncle’s footsteps or is taking really poor advise from his agents, he seems to forget there are three more years left on his current contract.
With $20m of guaranteed $$ his greed will be his undoing. Now there wil; be no Revis on the Super Bowl Jets. Take that to the bank Revis. What a fool. For a another few mi;lion a year he would have been highly compensated AND had a marvelous opportunity to go all the way with this team. It seems the man is totally blind to the real opportunity here. What a fool.
i really hope woody and and revis are doing this to get the ratings on hard nocks knowing that there is really a deal made allready ( wishfull thinking)
