Interesting Developments Concerning Agents Schwartz & Feinsod
According to Yahoo! Sports and Mr. Jason Cole, Chargers WR Vincent Jackson has been able to bear the brunt of his financial shortcomings as of late, due to the "generosity" of Neil Schwartz & Jonathan Feinsod. The article can be read here.
With such revelations coming to light, one can only speculate upon the role that these men are playing within the contract stalemate that has plagued our own NY Jets. Could Schwartz & Feinsod be paying the fees that Revis has incurred during his holdout, with the understanding that they be fully compensated upon reaching an agreement with the Jets? With the guaranteed money that Mr. Revis is seeking, tacking on an extra 3 ~ 5% would more than suffice. Such accusations not only undermine Vincent Jackson, but as Schwartz and Feinsod represent mutiple players on multiple franchises, it raises questions as to how they conduct business. Their clients have showed they are very willing to hold-out, and if they are still receiving checks under the table, what else is there to deter such action?
One can only hope that Darrelle Revis will come to his senses.

To put this in perspective...
Theoretically, agents could manipulate their clients to only sign with certain teams by having them hold out while paying them or to not sign with particular teams without crippling them financially. Do I think it’s that likely, no, but these guys do have a bad history with us so it makes you wonder.
I do feel the final say goes to the clients themselves but paying them to break a contract or even to help them break a contract sounds illegal at best. That being said, it sounds like a calculated risk that’s been going on for more then we know and hasn’t been investigated by the NFL so it wouldn’t be a suprise if they didn’t when this turns out to be a story of fact.
I hate these douches
If this is true, Those guys are playing dirty. The deck is stacked against us, it isn’t even a fair negotiation.
I want him back with a fair deal but if he’s gonna let these morons rep him I sure as hell hope the Jets don’t cave and give into his demands.
Let him hold out the whole season and then let him hold out some more until he realizes no one is interested in paying that money to someone who’s sat out two seasons.
What did the 5 fingers say to the face?

Well
Not saying it isn’t a dirty method, but if the same agents gave any type of benefit to Revis for signing with the Jets for less money or even rather than signing with anyone else (if he was a FA), you would love the agents. Just as dity though…
I'm with all of you guys, 10,000%
There really should be an investigation. I mean, with all of the players they represent, their firm could DEFINATELY pay off those fees. It makes perfect sense. Someone get the commissioner needs to launch an investigation, as according to the article I posted, BOTH league AND sources within the agent community have confirmed it. And of course you know douche 1 and douche 2; no one better dare say a bad word about either of them. It must be true; why else would they get a lawyer to demand a retraction?
I found a client list
here’s the 2010 active roster of clients for douche 1 & douche 2:
Interestingly enough… they only have 3 Pro Bowlers represented… Hmm… and also piqueing my interest, they also represent Rob Turner…. HMM…
Best part of all, they list their office’s number on that website! Let’s start harrassing them with calls!!!!!!!
it didn't post the link...
so here it is.
Give Revis an Ultimatum
Tell him and his agents something along the lines of this:
’We’d love to have Darelle on our team. However, we’re prepared to play the 2010-2011 without him. Here is our final offer ________. Should you turn this down, we can talk again next season.’
Not only might in frighted Revis, but the agents will realize that they won’t make their normal commission off of him, nor will they make back what they’ve been ‘spotting’ Revis, if this is true.
I think an ultimatum is the way to go at this point.
So let Revis sit on his couch,
presumably missing out on playing a game he loves, and get nothing. It’s getting to that point. I would like to see Woody call a public press conference, and say “look, if Revis isn’t signed on by week one, than we cease negotiations and he sits on the couch for the next 3 years, making nothing, his skills deteriorating. I understand this will hurt the Jets, but I have gotten to the point where I am willing to cut off my nose to spite my face here. We will move on with or without Darrelle Revis. If he does not report by the Ravens game, Revis will never play another football game as a member of the New York Jets, nor will we release, waive, trade, or entertain requests of any kind to move Darrelle to another football team.”
Thought of this while I was watching “Hung” last night. Lenore tells Ray, “you have until tomorrow to pay me, if I have my money, everything’s fine, if not, then I will —”, at which point Ray responds, “what? you’ll do what?” Lenore responds, “I’ll do something that I will regret later.”
and you immediately see the fear in Ray’s face.
Maybe Woody can convince team Revis that he is crazy, stubborn, and vindictive enough to make sure Revis doesn’t see the light of the NFL day for years after right now if he holds out now. If he can convince team Revis of those things, than it doesn’t matter whether they know (or think) we will suffer without Revis, because they are dealing with somebody emotional who isn’t thinking straight, and will do something that they already know they will regret later. It’s like sure, we may struggle without Revis (I know we won’t, but that’s not here nor there), but what good does that fact do for the Revis camp if the owner is actually spiteful enough to screw Revis over in spite of himself?
I know this is fantasy, but I sure would enjoy it.
One worry...
I love the idea, but the long-term effects would hurt the Jets dramatically. FAs would probably shy away and draftees might actually not sign with the team, worried that they might outplay their rookie contract.
I know it’s not going to get fixed, but the finances in the NFL, on BOTH sides, are so wrong and the only people it truly hurts are the fans. If Goodell really wants to fix the game, this would be the first place to start. The owners still make plenty, the good players still will get their guaranteed money, etc.
I think I’m in favor of the Craigslist idea though. Is that wrong?
No not really
Go for it. Any takers on Craigslist?
I don't think so.
It would maybe make them think twice about negotiating a contract that they aren’t going to stand by. But the Mangold signing proves you come to work, do your job, and don’t renege on your contract and you will get paid.
Yup, Brick too
I don’t care what the players say publicly, I guarantee you privately they are pissed off at Revis for being a douche bag at the expense of a championship. They saw Mangold and Harris and Brick, who have much, much more dangerous jobs than Revis does come to camp with out contracts and work their asses off. Revis thinks one good year makes him above the rules.
Now that I've had a chance to muse over their client list,
Revis is BY FAR their BEST client. OF COURSE THEY WANT TO GET RICH OF HIS TALENT!
