Jeff Cumberland Update

GGN fan favorite Jeff Cumberland made an impact in practice today.

TE Jeff Cumberland got a hold of a ball over safety Emanual Cook — who also got a piece but Cumberland came down with it. In the press conference Ryan said he needed to do a better job of blocking

Cumberland is something of a physical specimen at 6'5" 255 pounds and a 4.4 40 under his belt. There is a reason he went undrafted, though. He is very raw. The blocking remark is somewhat telling. Cumberland's path to the active roster is as a blocker in jumbo packages and on special teams.

Potential is definitely there. I bet he’ll end up on the practice squad if he doesn’t make the roster.

I know his blocking leaves a lot to be desired, but thats the second report i heard of him making a spectacular catch. You can teach a guy to block, but you can’t teach a guy to go after the rock. And you damn sure can’t teach 4.4.

I wasn’t sure about him but if he can stay motivated, he could be a diamond in the rough.
