PrintDan Graziano, one of the sources claiming a Revis deal is close last night, stood by his work tonight on his Twitter account.
@Jets321 I promise I'm continuing 2 do my job, check sources, give u everything I've got. Sides continue to talk. Good progress. Deal soon.

I will not read any more Revis-related posts, and I will not comment, nor refer to Darrelle, Revis, or #24 until something official comes out. I can’t stand the “he said, she said” reports that seem to come out every hour on the hour. Please let me know when something substantial actually happens.

Not only am I tierd of this but will not going to put with it any more. Nothing but lies and he said she said. I just wish people would just shut up and that the front office finally grab there bigg boy sticks and make a decision. how much more do they think we want to hear this.

I hope he sits out wilson and al-cro is holding that down. Plus I see AL-cro having a big year out there. In this Deffense man CB will look like Gods. Revis will never be bigger then the system and I hope they sit him and let Cromartie show his talent(which I believe has better skill when it comes down to it anyways) all he needs to do is keep with the coaches and both 20 and 31 will be alked about. REVIS STAY AWAY ILL NEVER SEE YOU THE SAME WAY. Id offer 1 yr. $20 for a grayhound pass. I hope the trade him to the lions for a ice cooler. thats wat he will be worth after a yr sit out anyways.

or any team i root for. if you think Cro is close to the player Revis is, then you must have not seen tape of Cro’s play in SD last year. i guarantee, you will root for the man when he’s returning a big pick 6 this season. i’d put money on that.

I can’t be mad at these guys. It’s not like they made this stuff up, nor did they milk the publicity. Their only fault was believing incorrect sources. But who were those sources, I wonder?

The latter was kind of what I was getting at, the publicity thing.
He didn’t milk it, but he didn’t need to. The whole sports media world was growing crazy during that 24-hour-period or so, all because of his “report.”

DId it give them publicity? Yes. But that couldn’t have been avoided. They truly did believe that their sources were correct.
Besides, that publicity is the worst kind now that they’ve been all but proven wrong. I’ll never think of Cowlishaw the same way again (not that I thought of him much to begin with).

If a deal does get done tomorrow, what do all the NY beat writers who shot this down say?

Tim Cowlishaw doesn't need publicity, he is on ESPN every day.
As for Graziano, I don’t know, he is a well enough known writer, but Cowlishaw is going to take the majority of either the glory or the egg on his face depending on which way this swings. I don’t think he needs publicity. When it comes to getting your face/name out there for a member of the sports media, spending 30 minutes a day with your face on ESPN is about as good as it gets.
and fwiw it's worth, I don't particularly care for Graziano, and if the rumors of a 10/150 deal are true,
I don’t want a deal to get done either, so it’s not like this is my heart talking. I don’t know whether or not a deal will get done, all I know is Cowlishaw stuck his neck out there. It’s pretty easy for you or I to make a claim about what will happen, but would you stick your neck out there like that and risk your livelihood in a profession where your reputation means a lot, especially when you basically guarantee something this big? If he is wrong he is going to look silly, I just don’t get why you seem so bothered by it. He has a source who he is trusting big time.

Darrelle has gotta realize that the jets are a legit contendor for SB XLV this year with 24 on the field. Without him, were just a mediocre defense… Its a messy situation because of the labor lockout looming over our shoulders next year, its for that reason he wants a new contract now as well as his best year as a CB since Deion. Its taken over 3 weeks for the jets front office and Darrelle do get to this point bc the main component of the negotiations is the guarenteed money as well as the benchmark that that jerkoff al davis set for CBs and their worth… Either sign now or hit the bricks

you and crack wouldn’t think so I guess, since you seem to agree that we will be mediocre without Revis. I think Revis makes us better, but Revis is is much more a creation of Rex Ryan than the Jets defense is a product of Revis.
The Jets defense will dominate the league with or without Revis.
i'm telling you
with all these conflicting reports, and beat writers and there Twatter accounts, this reminds me of the damn lebron fiasco, all over again.
