The Day in Darrelle Revis News
A reporter from a television station in Pittsburgh, KDKA, is the fourth major news outlet to say Darrelle Revis and the Jets are close on a contract. He says the deal is in the area of 10 years and $150 million, $65 million of which would be guaranteed. Revis grew up in the area and played his college ball at Pittsburgh, which indicates again the people reporting this are getting a different source than the Jets beat writers.
NFL Films President Steve Sabol says Revis will not appear in tonight's Hard Knocks. There is no reason to doubt Sabol. That means there will apparently be no live annoucement. The interview Darrelle did the other day is still a mystery.
Mark Cannizzaro takes the bold step of saying these reports are false.
Woody Johnson says things are "status quo." That means things haven't changed. He's still not talking to the press about anything. Some in the media take that to mean the reports are false for some reason.
Cimini takes a more balanced look. He says his sources indicate there is nothing new to report but admits events might be taking place that he has not heard.

He hasn’t signed today, he won’t sign today, these whole reports have been crap since they were first released.
I’m ready to close on this crap already and report on REAL Jets’ news.
Either he signs, or he sits. Let’s go already.

As much as I want it to be true...
the more I think about it the less likely it seems that it is. I gotta admit Francesa kind of got to me. He said that 64M guaranteed is ridiculous. And he’s right. Thats way out there. Peppers and Haynesworth only got 40M. That plus the fact that these numbers are probably coming from Revis’ family/friends… it just don’t smell right.
I don’t believe a word out of Francesa’s mouth. At any rate, even if you throw out the numbers from the Pittsburgh story, we’ve got Cowlishaw, Daughtry, and Graziano saying something is close.

Why doesn't Rich Cimini just admit that he has no clue
what the F- – - is going on instead of the double-talk bull-shit he’s feeding us.
I think that you’re looking at this completely wrong.
At least Cimini is speaking the truth, unlike all of these other writers with “sources” that have just been blowing smoke up our ass and taking up news hole.
