As we all know he may become a overnight hero in the minds of Jets fans for reporting the news of a potential Darrelle Revis signing on Wednesday. There's been reports that Cowlishaw was completely false, that he has mistaken Revis for Nick Mangold and that his account may have even been hacked. I didn't know what to believe so to get further insight on the situation I've decided to be a sly spy on Cowlishaw's Twitter to see whats really going on in this charade. I came across a few tidbits I felt were worth sharing with the GGN community. It isn't much but it's all we really have to go off at this point.
how can you tweet somthing like the revis rumor then back it up with a tweet about a K in a meaningless baseball game
i was told they will announce it this week, not def wednesday but probably wednesday. This person has never been wrong.
BrittSlovak commented something but his/her Twittier account no longer exist so there is no way of knowing what he/she originally said. Here is what Cowlishaw said in return.
and what would I possibly gain by doing that? My source said should be announced wed. i have every reason to believe.
I expect Jets writers to shoot down what I wrote about Revis. That's their job. It's not Wednesday is it? I fully expect it then.
I really hope this guys account wasn't hacked or something. Want this to be true so badly.
account wasn't hacked. it's me. i have proved it to others.
[Tim Cowlishaw] is a reporter from Texas. How do you know something about a NY team?
think about what you just asked, and where stories come from...
I'm not doubting you or your sources but why would they wait until wednesday?
think about it...
With the news breaking on Mangold you have to follow up if you mixed up the 2 deals. Not following up worse than the mistake.
yeah I don't know the difference between mangold and revis. Please...
So there you have it. Words straight from the horses mouth. He seems very confident in his source and believes Revis will be signed sometime this week. He has so much to lose and so little to gain by making this statement so its hard to believe he would pull this out of his ass for some strange reason. He obviously has a source and has a lot of faith in the claims that this source makes. Could the source be completely out of his mind? Yes, that's a possibility but Cowlishaw trusts this guy with his own reputation basically. If he didn't, he would have never broke the news. This has got to be one pretty damn accurate source. Lets hope so, later gremlins.
