K. C. Joyner article is great, basically does a break down of the metric’s of the YPA, basically saying Revis has little or nothing to do with the rest of the secondary, based on previous great CB years. The second half of the article comes from an interview of Greg Buttle, basically saying that the reason for Revis great season was Ryan’s play calling, and he could have a similar formula to take advantage of Cro. and Wilsons play.
OC Brian Schottenheimer may air it out more this year.
Please please No, if the Running game is as good as last year, and the defense is as good as it was, just ground and pound and let the D win games.

Rex said they won’t get away from the ground and pound, but it’s hard not to pass with the receiving corps we have, plus Keller and LT. They even have Wayne Hunter available at times for dump offs.
and the home of the... JETS!!!

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

If Sanchez is ready this is the next step we have to take. Not saying abandon what we did last year, but airing it out a bit more should take the offense to the next level.
Depends on what "airing it out" means
I think with the new weapons we have, we would have to use them, if not why did we bother getting them. However I really don’t think we are going to go to the other extreme and throw the ball 50+ times a game.
Another thing is we just have to see what’s out there. If for example Sanchez makes a big jump and can be more than just effective through the air, while at teh same time our running game not be what it was last year (hopefully not the case), then that more than anything will dictate which way we have to go.
Hopefully we can click on all cylinders and just drive teams crazy not knowing what to defend.
España 2010 Campenoes del Mundo!!!
I realize we have the tools and Sanchez hopefully continues his playoff play, but I think it might be better to minimize the use of Sanchez so when he does throw there’s a high probability of the play being successful. It’s just too often last season we’d see the Jets being successful all game with the Run, and then Schotty just flat out decides to give up on it and start airing it out.
Holmes is a great 3rd down target (ala Chrebet in the past) and will be great for when we get in the situations of 3rd and long of giving us a realistic chance to get the first whereas in the past we would be forced to run it.
If he’s planing on airing it out, I just want to see it be a way that works with the running game. Using Play Action (If the run is successful this year) should be one of the Jets high priorities this year. Throwing for 3 or 4 yard gains on first would be another way to change it up.
I just don’t like Lil Schotty in the least. He seems to believe that he’s some sort of offensive genius. I’m just worried with all the new tools, instead of opening up the field for the running game (forcing teams not to load the box) that he’s going to start airing it out like a Madden game and get Sanchez into no win situations. Obviously there’s high hopes for Sanchez going into this season especially with the new additions on Offense, but I’d still rather bring Sanchez along slowly like Big Ben or Flacco was instead of throwing him to the wolves.
