I'm not going to lie to you people. Clearly, based on my user name, I (at least used to) love Darrelle Revis. He is an amazing player, and I share the belief of many that he is a once in a generation type of talent. But that is the point of this article. If he really is once in a generation, which I think he is, then should Jets fans really be treating the holdout like it's some sort of apocalypse?
Revis is frequently compared to Deion Sanders, who hasn't played since 2005, and has been out of his prime for more than 10 years. But guess what? Somebody still won the Super Bowl EVERY year since then anyway, even without a Deion/Revis on their team.
What I'm trying to say is that the Jets can still win the Super Bowl even without him. It isn't a guaranteed Super Bowl season with him, and it won't be a guaranteed non-Super Bowl season without him. I obviously think they are a better team if he's there, but I think the defense is still loaded either way, and I think Antonio Cromartie, Kyle Wilson, and the rest of the secondary will be able to pick up most of the slack.
