In NFL access they asked the opinions of Marshall Faulk and Warren Sapp. They both agreed that no one man is the defense. There are 11 players and it takes 11 not 1. They said, Revis was awesome last year but that his teammates also helped him get there, and the defense schemes of Rex. They said that Rex always had top 5 defenses and would not doubt that he'll have another top 5 this year. They also said that the team is Revis family and he should be out there and its not right to try and hold the team hostage. No one defender is worth risking the overall team's future. If under Rex's system cro and wilson are doing real well, then Revis will be sitting at home and wanting to be there bad.
My take, Of course he needs to make more money but it's beyond that, it's now greed and pride. Yes, pay the man but don't risk the teams future for it. The longer it drags on the harder it will be for him to come back. Not only is the Jets and Revis losers if Revis doesn't come back. It's us fans who were excited about the 2010 season. But you know what I'm still excited with what we have, seeing the team grow together and the team unity.
