Look Into The Future... Jets Win Multiple Super Bowls With Or Without Revis?
Yes yes I know, not another Darrelle Revis post but I had to ask a interesting question. Lets say we knew what was gonna happen in the future and we would win a couple of Super Bowls within then next 10 years with or without Revis, which would you prefer? Would you rather win with Revis (assuming he signs a contract) and put our differences aside or would you rather win without him while he rots on the bench? Here's a added twist, lets say we trade Revis and on our road to the Super Bowl we eliminate his new team from the playoffs or even better beat them in the Super Bowl!
Anyone who's read my "Darrelle Revis : We Are All Victims" post knows how I feel about Darrelle, he's become a nobody to me. Surprisingly, the thought of trading him was a scenario that never crossed my mind until now. I say trade him! Trade him for... Asante Samuel! Throw in Brandon Graham while your at it, add a 1st or 2nd round pick why don't ya. Hell, give us both picks! You know why? Because he's Darrelle Revis aka GOD. That is what the League thinks at least and we'll be able to get almost anything for him. Imagine what kind of pieces we could get if we traded Revis... Well, that's another topic for another day. Trade him away somewhere and then beat the team we trade him to in the Super Bowl. I don't know about you guys but I would personally love to see Revis on the sideline watching us celebrate a Super Bowl win without him. Let him watch the confetti fall and Antonio Cromartie's MVP presentation. I have great imagery!! Screw you Revis!

Ha. I didnt even vote in this.
I can’t take a guy seriously who thinks we have a #1 defense without him, who’s all for trading him, but who thinks that the FO shouldn’t have traded him before the draft.
Yeah I said all of those things and I stand by it to.
If not #1 it’ll be top 3
If he still isn’t accepting our offers after all this time and he might holdout, just trade him. Better that then sit him for four years.
and
I wouldn’t have traded him before the draft because it would have been a gamble. I don’t understand why you don’t get that. Are you really that stupid? Negotiations take time, you don’t trade him before the draft early in negotiations because you’re worried he’ll hold out. You negotiate and hope you get the shit done. You’re ridiculously dumb. Why do I even waste my time with you. Mike T would have been crucified if he traded Revis because he was scared he would hold out. You don’t run a team on hunches.

How is it a different gamble then, than it is now? How is it a gamble when you know you’re a top 3 defense without him?
How does the gamble change based on negotiations breaking down?
If you really think that you’re a top 3 D without him, who cares how negotiations go? You grab a player(s) that will push you back to #1 and you get a pick to secure the future. After all he’s just a corner. Its Rex’s system that makes great players, right? Its only stupid to go through all this mess and come out with nothing but fan approval. Approval which will turn on a dime if the team sucks without him.
No. You can’t say that you’re just as good without him and maintain that moving before the draft would have been a bad move. Those 2 assumptions cannot be maintained at the same time and still make sense.
i aint a revis rider i sided with the jets and i would rather him sit on the sideline of the jets make him watch us win and if he still think he deserves QB money then trade him while completely destroying any good image he had left in the process rex made him revis island and all revis d#$* riders need to realize that cause in mangina’s system he was just revis so if anyone deserves credit for revis success is rex ryan and i hope he watches cro turn back into 07 cro and wilson develops he is just one player ok there no I in team.
lets go jets
well if you get that deal i wouldn’t object and i think it’ll piss of the giants too (same division)
double wammy lol but in all seriousness im just sick of it either sign get traded or sit for 3yrs plain and simple

i suck at fanpost but here’s revis statement

I couldn't care less who we win the SB with as long it happens
If signing Revis guarantees a SB championship, I don’t care if he signs for 20M/yr. Flags fly forever.
Um…Revis made the Pro Bowl under Mangini. Before Rex got here! Rex and his system took advantage of his skill set and together they made Revis special. I would like a SB. I was born in 1970. You don’t win SBs trading away what the coach all of us worship for bring us out of SOJ territory calls the Best Defender in the league. You may not be a Revis Rider and you may side with Tanny, if you do why don’t follow him …in saying he will not trade Revis! If you say you don’t believe him because he said one thing then traded or released the guy he said he wouldn’t, maybe you can start to see why Revis is not going to trust Tanny to take care of him and play for 1 million this year. Revis may not be GOD but the organization doesn’t have a great track record where I am going to blindly suck there nibblets either.
A couple Super Bowls?
Right now I’d be happy with one. As for trading him, I’d be open to it if it included a proven player like Samuel, but just trading for picks is a pretty big gamble. The last time the Jets did this with Keyshawn, they got 2 first rounders in return and selected John Abraham (a solid player who folded at the end of every season) and Anthony Becht…yuck. They have been better recently, but remember that they had to move up to get Revis, Sanchez, Keller and Greene, thereby losing the extra picks they had. So far it has worked out, but it’s too early to tell how good their careers are going to be.
