Mark Brunell Is the Backup
In today's non Revis news, Rex Ryan told the press today Mark Brunell is Mark Sanchez's primary backup.
Training camp is only a week old, but Rex Ryan has all but declared an end to the backup-quarterback competition. The New York Jets' coach said Tuesday that Mark Brunell, who basically signed on the eve of camp, is "pretty much a lock for the No. 2 spot."
This seemed like it was in the cards no matter what happened in preseason. I don't see what the harm would have been in opening things up to give a blank slate like Kevin O'Connell more of a shot.

At least this spares them the heartache of having a tiny bit of hope where they really knew there was none?
Yeah, and Brunell needs to catch up and get to know the system and the players.

I've tried to email Revis, but it just shuts down my computer.
Didn’t the Starter competition last about a week last year?
Dominik signed me for 20 years, and all I got was a press conference and a voided contract...

Probably, I’m more joking. But if I do remember right, that first week of camp was pretty ugly for Clemens in comparison to Sanchez.
