Marques Douglas Agrees to Terms with Miami

No Jets' offseason is complete until one of ours goes to either New England or Miami --- that has now happened.

NYDN's Manish Mehta is reporting DE Marques Douglas and Miami Dolphins have agreed to a  2-year deal worth approximately $2.5 million, which is why he will NOT be returning to the Jets for the 2010-11 season. Douglas started 12 of 16 games for GangGreen in 2009, and now the Jets DL takes a small hit and loses some depth.

After Phins' DE Philip Merling suffered a season-ending Achilles injury this week and is now a likely candidate for the 'non-football injury list,' Miami took a proactive approach and sought after Douglas.

So Parcells got his man, and now Douglas is re-united with DC Mike Nolan who coached him in Baltimore and San Francisco.

Here are his 2009 stats, per ESPN.Com:

Stats Overview Tackles Misc Interceptions
