Intriguing storylines of 2010 Jets season
Many things intrigue me about the 2010 Jets.
1: Can Mark Sanchez limit the INT numbers and lead the Jets to the promised land?
2: Will the Jets finally take down the favored Colts, who defeated the Jets in the AFCCG last season, as the team to beat in the AFC?
3: Does LaDainian Tomlinson have much left in the tank?
4: Does Jason Taylor have much left as well?
5: Will the Jets avoid breakdowns in late games that was their downfall vs Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami et al.?
6: Santonio Holmes is supended for the 1st 4 games, will the receiving corps step up while he's gone?
7: Can the defense be even better than last year?
8: Shonn Greene is the feature back, and will be sharing carries with LT, will he hopefully stay healthy?

Sanchez just has to make smart decisions like you brought up. Just manage a game and a few times the Jets will need him to reach back for a little more. I am glad he won’t have to carry this team all year. It is a very reasonable expectation to have Mark make modest imrovements and to have the Jets back in the playoffs. I think the biggest reason we will have a better defense is the two corner backs Wilson and Cro. I was so happy Wilson fell to the Jets and he will have a big role this year.
Since the face been revealed the game got real
cro & wilson are super-athletic
agreed they will upgrade our defense to possibly 2002 bucs levels

I think some of these are interesting, and some are definitely reaching.
1) It will be interesting to see how well he transitions in year 2. Obviously I’ll be watching Henne, and watching these 2 mature will be great for both teams.
2) No offense, but I think this question is really really just a reach. The Jets need to be concerned with winning the division they went 2-4 in last year…before they even consider being in the discussion about the team to beat in the AFC East. I don’t even think the Jets are in that discussion at all, at this point.
3) If he does, he’s been hiding it for 3 years…. so it would be a shock.
4) Dolphin fans wanted him on the roster this season, so we were hoping so. The coaching staff disagreed (his drop off last season was akin to your examples of Thomas Jones)…….but I’ll always root for a Dolphin legend, just not on the 2 weeks we play each other.
The rest are all good questions….
Let the season begin already!
So there I was.....asleep when it happened.....the buzzing of the blackberry woke me up....still groggy, I rubbed my eyes, and read the incoming email.
BRANDON MARSHALL IS A DOLPHIN!
Then I had a beer....took the day off work, and bought a box of condoms.
Its going to be a long night for my wife.
How does this post only get 3 comments?

It's a dead month.
It’ll pick up more as Training camp begins which I can’t wait for
Ok I'll bite...
1) I hope so , I think this is the key to the season
2) I think the improvements to the secondary, and Offense will, help, Rex is a great coach as far as adjusting after a loss, they will be ready for them thats for sure, and I think its the whole reason Cro was brought in and Wilson was the first round pick.
3) Yes I really think LT is going to surprise a lot of people
4) No, but he will be used sparingly so I don’t think we will notice much.
5) Yes, but this also goes back to Sanchez
6) Well Edwards better, or else he’s not resigned next year, its going to be interesting to say the least, but we were fine without Edwards for the first 4 last year.
7) It will, and thats scary
8) I think Greene will be fine injury wise, he had a ton of carries his senior year without injury.
GO JETS
1. Sanchez will definitely lower his interception rate. He now has LT to throw the ball to out of the back field (not to mention McKnight). I think it’s very important to note that Rex Ryan said Sanchez has worked harder during the off-season than ANY player he’s ever coached.
2. The Jets WILL beat the Colts. I don’t think anybody understands what Kris Jenkins and Cromartie will do to this defense. I’ve heard many announcers on ESPN say just How scary this defense is. Due to Hard Knocks and Rex Ryan’s persona, we are the team to beat.
3. I think LT will be the most surprising feature of the NYJ. Nobody ever talks about how the Chargers threw the ball more than any team in the NFL last year… And nobody mentions how their Offensive line continually diminished as the season progressed. I’m very excited to see LT perform. (McKnight as well actually((and Greene to truck people :D)).
4. Jason Taylor won’t do much for the Jets. His body is fairly lanky and once you get old it’s hard to embrace all of the vicious hits that are laid out. One thing he will definitely help with is 4th quarter stamina. It will be nice to have a guy like him to come in and perform later in the game.
5. Our Defense will perform like a Mailman, Rain, Sleet or Snow. Sanchez on the hand, is a different story. If Sanchez truly studied as hard as Rex said, hopefully we will turn the ball over much less. The less we turn over the ball, the more rested the defense is. I can’t stress just how excited I am to watch this freak show of a defense. Bart Scott for president sonny.
6. Good question. Braylon needs to catch the ball ALL the time. Dustin Keller is about to have a break out year, he will be regarded as one of the best TE’s in the league, once the year is over. I think the receivers will be able to hold it down for the first four games. The Ravens will be tough, Foxworth and Fabian Washington are good, BUT Ed Reed will be out when we play them. That is a big bonus . The Pats have gone through cornerbacks like Cromartie with women, although Meriweather is good, McCourty was a stupid pick because Kyle Wilson is much better. The Pats will not have a great pass defense. The Dolphins actually don’t have a bad secondary. My one argument against them is their Safeties and Will Allen’s age. Yeremiah Bell is mediocre and the other guy they have I have never heard of. We will beat the Dolphins twice this year, it will be a good game though. The Bills, not much of an explanation needed.; McGee and Byrd perform but never seem to get enough done.
7. Yes. Jenkins and Cromartie will be awesome. I think Cromartie working with Revis will really improve both of them. Jenkins is also losing a lot of weight which will only increase his level of play (which is a 10/10). The two things i’m excited to see about our defense: Pouha and Brodney Pool. Pouha had a great year last year, and with Ellis, Jenkins and him starting as the 3 down linemen, that is straight nasty. Maybe mix Gholston in there as well. Pool supposedly hits like an Animal and I want to see that because Kerry Rhodes hit like such a girl it was horrible.
8. I hope! He’s a one man wrecking crew. We do run the ball a lot so he will be Running straight into many defenders, but I think he’ll last because of LT and McKnight. I think LT will have a great year, and I think most fans are underestimated the talent of McKnight. THis kid gets sick during camp and people think he’s out of shape !!! LOL. This kid obviously went out partying the night before… not very hard to tell.
1: Can Mark Sanchez limit the INT numbers and lead the Jets to the promised land?
Yes. That was rookie year. He won’t be perfect, but he’ll be better.
2: Will the Jets finally take down the favored Colts, who defeated the Jets in the AFCCG last season, as the team to beat in the AFC?
As long as Peyton is at the helm, it’ll be damn difficult. I’m leaning towards no.
3: Does LaDainian Tomlinson have much left in the tank?
Some, yes. Much, no.
4: Does Jason Taylor have much left as well?
I think so.
5: Will the Jets avoid breakdowns in late games that was their downfall vs Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami et al.?
Yes. This will be a better overall team than last season.
6: Santonio Holmes is supended for the 1st 4 games, will the receiving corps step up while he’s gone?
Yes, in the same way the defense stepped up last season sans Calvin Pace.
7: Can the defense be even better than last year?
It can, but I don’t think it will. It will be largely the same, which is not a problem at all.
8: Shonn Greene is the feature back, and will be sharing carries with LT, will he hopefully stay healthy?
The bigger question is, will he have better hands this season?
Is there any other Cowboys fan out there who will gladly take Tony Romo over Aaron Rodgers any day?
