Anyone who reads GGN frequently knows that every now and then we like to put up a post that just reminds people about some of the great things our players are doing off the field. A player can spend a lifetime doing the right thing, making a difference and few would pay attention. A player makes one wrong move and his name hits the headlines and everybody is talking about it.
Like Charles Dickens once said, there are two types of charitable people in the world; those who do little and make a great deal of noise, and those who do a great deal and make no noise at all. D'Brickashaw is the latter.
So in an effort to highlight some of the great work being done by our Jets, we will continue to run posts similar to this throughout the year.
So in honor of D'Brickashaw Ferguson's new contract, we want everyone to head over to his foundation which can be found by clicking on this link right here. D'Brickashaw created his foundation in 2007 and since that day has worked to improve the lives of students and whole communities. We're sure this new contract will help continue and improve the foundation in the future.
D'Brickashaw is also part of the 'Eat Right, Move More' campaign which encourages kids to maintain a healthy diet as well as taking part in physical activities. He also is/has been involved in the Special Olympics, the Lupas Walk as well as assisting with Autism and Muscular Dystrophy charities
While there we encourage you to take some time to read about the foundation and also to sign up for the foundation newsletter. It's as simple as you like, at the top of the page you can see a white box, input your email and click "Go". You'll then get all the updates as to what the foundation is doing, and any upcoming events that you could attend.
If you do have a spare couple of $$'s lying around, then you can donate them to a worthy cause by clicking on the Donate box on the right hand side of the page, around halfway down.
Ultimately, the foundation will provide resources to churches, schools and to fund food banks and clothing ministries in hopes to building up the respective communities there by showing God’s love in action.
