FREE AGENT : Ekejiuba!!

HEY!

Most of you know me, I started debates here. Interview players on my site.

QUICK POST : It's my birthday today, but I have a bid to make for all you JETS fans.

THIS NEEDS TO BE DONE!

Sign the special teams alternate, Isaiah Ekejiuba

He was with the Raiders for six years, walked on to UVA as a sophomore never playing football before.

Last year, he earned third alternate to Pro Bowl.

ST has taken a hit from losing Wallace Wright - who I met and is an AWESOME guy...

AND Larry Izzo who is great, but has nagging injury concerns!

Ekejiuba is a constant playmaker on ST, improving every year. THE JETS NEED HIM!

He was released by the Raiders because they couldn't afford to pay 1 million.

Can he play a position ?

Laury was signed by the Jets, to replace Izzo, a former captain of Special Teams with the Seahawks, can be a backup at ILB

Cory Reamer also impressed at camp at a position and he looks like he’ll be a top special teamer.. Unnecessary to go out and get a special teamer, we have a lot of linebackers on the roster right now that will make up the special teams unit. Going out and spending $1 on a special teams specialist doesn’t really make sense to me, when we already signed a specialist and have other players that need spaces.

Well.

He could replace Gholston’s role on ST,
especially if we say Vernon play more downs on defensive line.

Ekejiuba was ST captain of Raiders.

Could replace Wallace Wright. = He didn’t get too much playing time.

You’re still causing more problems that solutions, cutting Wright, then having to sign him. Not worth it in my mind, we have a former special teams captain in Laury. I’m sure he is a cool guy, but I don’t think we are bringing in another ST specialist. Doesn’t seem like he offers much on defense, a few tackles each year with no impact plays.

Unnecessary change IMO
