Hey guys. A lot of people on many mainstream websites such as nfl.com have been really high on Shonn Greene.

Although I'm not saying he is bad, I really do think he is WAAAAAY overrated. So I'm making this post to state my opinion, and to see what you guys think about his "stature" on nfl.com.

This is mostly regarding fantasy value, but also is about how he will produce this year.

Last year, Shonn Greene carried the ball 108 times and rushed for 508 yards. He averaged an impressive 5.0 yards per carry. He had a good season last year, and many expect him to have a breakout season this year, but let me tell you why I disagree.

1. Alan Faneca. Alan Faneca is a great offensive lineman, and now that you don't have him anymore, you have an unproven guard trying to fill his spot. That brings uncertainty to that position. And while you guys still have a great line, losing him, may hurt the blocking for Shonn this season.

2. Nick Mangold. He is one of the best centers, if not THE best center in the NFL. But, he is disgruntled about his contract. Will this hinder his production? I don't think so..... but it might. Just something to think about.

3. LT. From what I have heard, Tomlinson will be starting for you guys, which will take many snaps away from Greene. That right there already destroys much of his value. And lets just say Greene wins the starting job during training camp, Tomlinson is still your red zone guy, so I don't really understand why he is labeled as a top RB (fantasy).

4. His rating is based solely upon the very end of last season and the playoffs. I still don't consider him to be proven. Now, if he runs for over a thousand yards next season, and has a good yards per carry average again all season long next season, I will obviously change my mind. But as of now, I consider him unproven.

To wrap things up, this is not an attack from a rival team's fan, this is just my input on this situation. In case you guys haven't seen what I am talking about, here are some links to show you:

Here, he is a top 10 RB and some notables which are under him: Jamaal Charles, DeAngelo Williams, Ronnie Brown, Jonathan Stewart (who is in a similar situation to Greene), Thomas Jones, LT, etc.

Here, he is 18th ranked player, and 13th ranked RB. Some notables under him: Jamaal Charles, Pierre Thomas, Ronnie Brown, Fred Jackson, LT, etc.
