DE Bobby McCray released by Saints

Bobby McCray is a 28 year old DE with six years of NFL  experience. He is 6-6 and 260 lbs, has 29.5 sacks and 8 forced fumbles. he is not known to overpower offenses but is a steady hand and capable of occupying space. He was the starter for the Saints postseason run last year and comes relatively cheap. He was also used mainly as a speed rusher.

I think that the Jets should pursue this guy, he was drafted in the seventh round in 2004 and has been nothing but a hard working and loyal player. The type of guy that Rex loves. He could come in and immediately be pluged into a rotating spot with Golston and even take his place if Vernon does not pan out as a DE.  His size and speed is also good for occasional OLB duties. He definetly would provide a safety blanket should any of the DLs falls to injury. We need a guy like this right now. Of all the DLs out there right now he is the best available, and I can only imagine the stories he could bring to the locker room about winning the Super Bowl and keep the fire alive in this team, maybe even fuel it some more.

What do you guys think? Let me know if my info on McCray is accurate or Am I missing the mark?
