GOOOOOOOAL

There's a World Cup going on. Our Americans caught a lucky break and got a draw against a more talented opponent today. Things look bright in the rest of the group. Feel free to discuss this or anything else below.

USA USA USA

I hope we do really well this go around, and at least give the nation some soccer pride.

I saw the goal we scored.

It might be the first goal I ever seen scored. I’m a channel surfer, its hard for me to watch a whole soccer or hockey game. They are both great sports with great athletes, but the low scoring is a turn off. Good luck USA

Surprised David didn't come in and share some World Cup thoughts

Be it that he’s been on Twitter discussing it frequently.

Any thoughts on here, David?

Too early to say much

While the USA did play well, they were lucky to get that goal on Green’s mistake. The thing they did best was shut down Rooney.
In terms of quality of opposition faced and performance against them, the Netherlands are the team that look best at the moment. South Korea are also going to be a tough nut to crack.
Italy and Paraguay each traded half a game and therefore didn’t look all that convincing.
France and Uruguay struggled against each other.
Argentina did what it needed to against Nigeria and nothing more. However, unlike other times I can’t root for them because Maradona is their coach.
Germany dominated Australia – in other words, bears are furry and water is wet.
I still want to see what Brazil and Spain have to show.
Also, there are some teams that tend to be slow starters, so a first game doesn’t necessarily say much about them (Italy, Mexico).
Serbia was disappointing, but I don’t think Ghana’s win makes them a favorite to win their group or anything. Same deal if you substitute Slovenia for Ghana and Algeria for Serbia.
