LenDale White: Not a Good Option

The Seahawks cut LenDale White yesterday. I have hopped around a few Jets sites today seeing people suggest Gang Green pick him up. Can we please put this to rest? White is a bad running back.

Behind the exact same offensive line that helped Chris Johnson run for 2,000 yards, LenDale averaged 3.5 yards per carry. You may claim White didn't get enough carries. How about in 2008 when they were splitting carries, and White couldn't even crack 4 yards per carry while Johnson ran for almost 5?

Just say no. He brings nothing to the table. Two teams have given up on him in the past month for a reason.

No way

poor work ethic, horrible teammate, and he is going to be suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. After he got traded to the seahawks he was dissing Jeff Fisher for his so called obsession with Chris Johnson. What a loser!

Exactly

This guy is probably done in the NFL. The guy has weight problems as a freakin running back. He’s done.

Are some people even contemplating this??? I know we sometimes have a fanbase who wants every player that becomes available, but I find it hard to believe a portion of Gang Green wants this chap. lol

Well White is certainly a better back than CW...

but I still don’t see us carrying 6 RBs so its kind pointless.

There is a reason people call him LandWhale.

Lifelong Arizona Cardinals/Chicago Bears fan [I have always lived in Arizona, dad is from Chicago].

I can't stand fair-weather/bandwagon fans, stick with your team, throughout the good and the bad. And don't switch to whichever team wins the Super Bowl each year.

by JoeCB1991 on May 29, 2010 2:12 PM EDT reply actions

You KNOW you're bad when your former coach wants nothing to do with you.

I feel kinda bad for LandWhale, tbh. I heard he had lost a bunch of weight and got in shape for this year, and you’re cut over a guy with a broken leg by your old coach at USC. Poor guy.

Why would we need another back at this point? I’d prefer Westbrook anyway.

The Islanders went from Marty McInnis and a 2nd Overall pick to Jesse Joensuu.

No way in Hell

Can’t stand him. Another classless player to come out of the Pete Carroll system at USC.

After his stomping on the Steeler’s towel showed what type of player he is. And hes worse in the locker room.

We dont need any more distractions, agree w/ you John.

that towel stompin came back

and knocked them out of the playoffs.
safe to say the Steelers won’t pick him up

I love Vegas
Franco made that play because he never quit on the play. He kept running, he kept hustling. Good things happen to people who hustle."

Pretty good so far

We’ve started him off running some routes as the “X” receiver which is about as simple as you can get in this offense.

Think he should do well here, Rex appears to have kicked Braylon into shape and think Santonio will fall in line also.

Still very early and tough to predict: besides the over-blown cellphone-on-plane incident, been nothing to note so far.

How do you guys feel? Wallace looks very promising, you think he can replace Santonio?

it wil be tough because

wallace has only had to face teams nickel or dime back. he will be going vs #1 or #2 man now. He has a lot of talent but Santonio will be missed. But the team has drafted a couple of guys who look like they can step up into Wallace’s old shoes

The cell phone or Ipod incident was overblown, maybe because it happened in Pittsburgh Airport.

White is cut from the Seabirds..his former coach at that.
Titans fell out of playoffs that year

I believe it was Albert Haynesworth, though I could be wrong. He also stomped on Andre Gurode a couple seasons before.

There are some Jet sites that want us to pick up EVERY damn player available, its gotten ridiculous. What has thing dumbass done in his career, and now this, being dropped before training camp….WOW. Dont know the guy, but seems like a bad dude. CFL, here he comes…along w/ Russell..

Bingo!

by Shawamar on May 29, 2010 7:28 PM EDT reply actions

CFL Flops

There have been a lot of players over the years who went to the CFL thinking they would dominate, keep in shape and get an NFL contract the next year. It doesn’t usually work that way. Sure it works for some, but they really need to get their act together for it to happen. Doesn’t sound like White or Russell are really ready to do that.

How do I break it to the cat that since he has been declawed, the rabbit he sees in our backyard would kick his sorry butt?

Maybe they could bring Jamarcus Russell to compete at the OL position that Faneca was cut from.
