Report: Jets Have Submitted Contract Proposal to Revis
According to reports from the NY Daily News, the Jets have sent All-Pro CB Darrelle Revis a contract proposal.
While we don't know what the numbers are just yet, we do know the contract is being reviewed by Revis's agent and a decision will be made soon.
Revis had some thoughts on the scenario (per Daily News):
"If the numbers are right and everything looks good, I'll sign on the dotted line," Revis said today following Jets' third OTA session. "If not, if we have negotiate more, that's something we have to do."
Revis also said he did not want to have the perception of being a 'greedy' athlete:
"I don't want to be looked at as that person," Revis said. "I don't know who said it. It's just false information. I'm not that type of guy to be saying stuff like that. It's insane with those types of numbers."
The shutdown corner is entering the 4th year of his six-year contract worth $36 million.

Nice
I hope it’s lower than Asomugha’s per year salary in return for more years and more guaranteed.
on spot.

If this this gets done quick...
I will have regained a ton of respect with the FO. Revis seems to be acting classy enough for me to think he’s not asking for the moon. And the FO might just have picked up on the reactions of fans with the 20 mill BS. Things are looking up IMO.

after hearing Revis talk, his comments were really mixed
on the one hand he completely shot down $20 mil as being insane, but on the other hand he wants to be the highest paid CB. when asked by dan leberfeld ‘what about his being paid so much that it would affect the team’s ability to sign other players’ he shrugged it off and said it wasn’t his problem.
so we’ll see what happens from here, but like i’ve said in a number of posts i think even $15 mil/yr is too high a price. hopefully mike t. can be creative and revis will be a little flexible.
