Mike T Talks About Revis
Mike Tannenbaum discussed Darrelle Revis' contract situation in blunt terms.
"Our expectation is he'll retire a Jet many years from now," Tannenbaum told ESPN Radio.
It's great to say the right things, but the team needs to step up to the plate and get things done quickly. The Jets have a lot of top flight young talent to lock up. Revis should be the top priority.

Apparently, Revis is looking for 20 million a season.

That might be asking a little too much. I thought he would probably be getting around 15 million a season.

What’s probably going on is they’re setting a high price, Mike T will set a low, and thus negotiations begin.

It must be cause NFL news is slow. Revis’s camp threw out the 20mil number as part of the negotiation process, I bet Mike T threw out 10 mil. Now they will talk some more, and meet in the middle. Don’t listen to Lombardi, he is a fraud, and a Pats’ D#CK rider. He doesn’t talk about how Tom Brady is looking for an expensive contract extension. Am I the only one that isnt worried about this?
As usual
The Pats get glossed over in favor of hating on New York. I’m not worried; Mike knows if he doesn’t lock him up now he will catch holy hell from various sources, and who needs that on top of other things like the PSL debacle

What if....
revis is like every other top player in the league? What if he realizes he has one sure shot at a big, long contract. Sure he may have intentions on playing in NY for the rest of his career but what makes people think he is the kind of guy who will low ball his worth for the sake of the team? This guy is going to play hard ball. And I will laugh at anybody on this site who thinks otherwise. Revis has more talent and cred to hold over the Jets front office then I have ever seen in a FA in a long time. He has the Jets by the balls. If he decides to squeeze and play the fan sympathy card, he will have the entire nation of Jets faithfull backing him reguardless of his asking price. And for that matter, So will Mangold. Who is also often voted as the best player in the NFL at his position, just like Revis. Top players in FA years can break the back of a franchise. And I don’t know about anybody else on here but Mike T’s penchant for making fan fav’s dissapear because of money issues makes me sick to my stomach. I will not rest easy untill this deal is done.
