Curtis Martin On Gang Green's Ground Game
ESPN New York's Rich Cimini spoke to Jets great RB Curtis Martin yesterday at the unveiling of the Super Bowl bid. Our favorite Martin thinks the Jets have good running backs and linemen and doesn't seem worried about the recent changes with the personnel. Here are some excerpts:
I think they had the league-leading ground game because of the line and the game plans. I believe lines make runners.
What I like about what they have now is the dynamic -- between experience and someone who knows the game (LaDainian Tomlinson) to someone who is very talented.
I think (Shonn) Greene is very talented. I think he's one of those guys to look out for. If I was one of those guys in a fantasy league, he'd be someone I get this year.
Greene and Thomas Jones are similar backs (in terms of style). I think Greene is a little more agile, a little faster.
If you have a certain type of passion to compete, which I believe L.T. has, I believe you look for opportunities like this, where everyone is against you. Barring injury, I think L.T. will be perfect for this situation.
He'll be running behind one of the best lines. I still think they could be, if not the best, definitely one of the top three lines in the NFL.
Curtis also added that he is still pursuing his dream of being an NFL owner, and that he is getting closer towards achieving that. Over the years, he has found himself more hopeful and excited to be a potential Hall of Famer, and that if it indeed happens, he would want Bill Parcells to present him.

Curtis is a class act...
but let’s face it, he’s a company man. He’s not going to say anything negative about the team or the team’s personnel decisions.
"212 degrees"
But is any thing he said not true. TJ’s best numbers came in his last two years. Do you think he got better at the age of 29/30?

It seems like they’re making Revis the priority, even though he’s got more years left on his contract.

I've tried to email Revis, but it just shuts down my computer.
In Rod we trust!
i know but i mean dont make promises it puts the FO in a tough problem that they don’t need if you break a promise then you prove rich cimini right about the home grown thing (well most of it alan and jones weren’t home grown don’t know why he said that) any way, i get it tho he was excited and probably said it because how good he did no! how great he did but im confident they’ll get it done.
lets go jets!
