Serby Takes Woody to Task on PSL's

Steve Serby is critical of Woody Johnson's quest to sell PSL's and asks him to lower the prices.

You want the spanking new stadium you share with the Giants filled by August? You still have more than 10,000 unsold PSLs?

Lower prices, Woody.

Refunds for all the suckers born every minute.

PSL: Personal Savings Licenses.

A little good will hunting will go a long way, Woody.

There are few things I hate more than personal seat licenses. In what other walk of life do you have to pay a vendor for the right to buy something? They are based on greed. Teams take advantage of their loyal customers. People should take a stand against it until teams stop using the practice. The Jets are no exception.

Was just earlier browsing tickets for the Patriots-Jets game in September and the only tix i could get were the freaking nosebleeds, and even those were 150 a pop. I could go to 6 yankees games for the same price! jesus

It seems like the Giants have sold more PSLs because they’re only selling for about $1000. Only. While the Jets PSLs are way, way more than that. And even way, way more depending on the seats.

There was a decade long waiting list without PSLs, and now the team has gone through all those people and are even cold calling customers now.

Some who have purchased PSLs for either team are regretting it, but they can’t resell because reselling before 2011 is forfeiting.

Last summer I signed up on the waiting list on a Saturday and was told I was up for buying tickets that Monday at 9:00 AM.

Right now they’re saying they’ll pay for the unsold tickets, although they’re saying there won’t be any.

The network broadcasting the game would also likely step up to the plate. It would kill their ratings.

I got the cold call today. I wanted to take the guy to task, but figured there was no sense berating an employee and just politely said no thanks. I will never go see a game so long as these business practices are in place.
