"Make Some History"
The Jets and Giants have revealed the slogan behind their Super Bowl XLVIII bid:
"Make Some History"
Fitting, as last season the Jets put together a near-historic run in which we saw the maturation of a rookie QB and RB, and a defense ironing out its kinks and coming together following the loss in Foxborough.
And Rex, well he makes history every time he's in front of the camera or on the field.
In this case, the slogan is in reference to the possibility of hosting the first cold-weather, outdoor Super Bowl in NFL history.
(This news via NY Post's Bart Hubbuch's recent Tweet):
"I'm at the NYC 2014 Super Bowl bid signing at the new Meadowlands. They unveiled the official slogan: "Make Some History." #NFL"
Update: Furthermore, Star-Ledger's Manish Mehta Tweeted a statement from Meadowlands' CEO Mark Lamping and also Woody's signature finalizing the Super Bowl XLVIII bid.
Lamping says blankets, hand and foot warmers will be distributed. And there will be firepits in parking lots for tailgating. #nfl #jets #nyg
Woody Johnson, Mara and Tisch signing SB bid now. Guess it's official now. #nfl #jets #nyg

I hope we get it
I think real football is played in cold weather environments. Plus, lets make some history!!!
You're probably thinking of
The Ice Bowl, an NFL Championship game, before the merger with the AFL.
So it was the game before the 2nd “Super bowl” (wasn’t called that yet), before the AFL was believed to be a legitimate contender to the NFL.
Against all odds, against all circumstance were you don't have a shot, you succeed

All you hear about is the past, the past... the past is the !@#$ing past, this is the present.
THIS IS TEMPORARY! A CHAMPIONSHIP IS PERMANENT
-Same as above
I'm a Dolphins fan
but im rooting for this to happen. That stadium is gonna be insane, but more importantly I’d love to see a super bowl where whether is a factor. Sure, there will be alot of talk prior to the game about who gets the advantage but I for one would love to see a super bowl with some snow
Laces out!
-2008 AFC East Champions-
Suck it Pats, Bills and most of all... the god damn jets.

Grey Cup
If CFL fans can survive a Grey Cup game in Winnipeg in late November, NFL fans can handle a much warmer NYC in January.
How do I break it to the cat that since he has been declawed, the rabbit he sees in our backyard would kick his sorry butt?

It Was Joe
When I was 10 yeares old we moved from the Bronx to the suburbs of Rockland County, the Jets had won the Super Bowl just before we moved. Our new neighbors invited me to go to see the Jets training camp at Hofstra. Notebook and pen in hand I stood outside a Hofstra dorm with about 25 other kids, waiting for players to come out so we could get their autographs before they ran off to camp. Player after player took the time to sign our books, the last one out was Joe Namath. We all waited our turns, as each kid got Joe’s autograph he would run off to watch camp, I was last. As Joe tried to sign, my pen ran out of ink, with everyone else gone there was no other pen available, Joe said, “Sorry kid, I’ve got to go to practice, I’ll get you later.” and off he ran. Hours later I stood by the dorm again, waiting for Joe. He came walking back with 2 beautiful coeds on each arm and a big grin, I thought I was out of luck. He saw me and told the girls, “Wait a minute, I’ve got to take care of this kid.” He took a knee and talked to me for a couple of minutes and gave me an autograph, he treated me as good as I had ever been in my life. Ever since that day I would always be a Jets fan. I’ve seen some players treat kids pretty bad of late when they ask for an autograph, it’s not right. I lost the autograph when my house was flooded, but I’ll always remember how Broadway Joe took time for a little kid.

Nice story...
I live near Cortland, NY so I got to see training camp last summer. Truly a once in a liftetime opportunity (they’ll be back this summer but I probably won’t be able to be there.) Despite the heat and the practice still 10 minute autograph sessions by some guys, including Mangold and Feeley. Very cool, I kept all the autographs.
As someone who lives in upstate New York I’ve grown to hate snow. That said, if you can’t handle the weather you shouldn’t play the game, and I’d love to get a Super Bowl. I went up to Foxboro in ‘07 for our visit to the Pats. Cold as hell but I still loved it. And nobody gave me a hard time when they realized I wasn’t pulling for the Pats. Nice stadium as well, even if we did get stuck in the parking lot for an hour trying to leave because of the tailgaters (four hour drive.)

Whoever thought up the idea of fire pits for tailgaters needs to be fired.
Since when has mixing fire with a large amount of drunk imbeciles been a good idea?
